I could be awfully wrong, but is this stuff only happening to you?

On the fun side: It almost looks like a spiky bush of some sort, can be used to fool the enemy as well as cover. :)

had this crap on all direct3d games since years back and on diff hardware, so it sure must be within the games

but at least i harvested the wepsounds from it hehe :p some are VERY likely to emerge into my doom mod stuff ^^

Somehow I doubt it's D3D9 or MS's fault. Not to say that D3D > OpenGL (quite the inverse!), but I would assume something to not be working correctly. Old/faulty hardware or corrupted/faulty/improperly installed drivers/programs are more-than-likely to be the cause.

this is how cod2 looks with the m$-produced garbage called Direct3D9; OpenGL is MUCH superior, every game i own thats made for direct3d9 looks like this, but if i can run them under OpenGL they look MUCH BETTER, yet another example of Open Source Superiority visavi Closed Source by m$
