There is more than one reason why you may be kicked by the server. They are explained in FAQ: Mbmerc.com Also, you should see a red error message in the left bottom corner.

If you get kicked randomly, make sure you are not using a pirated serial key.

I'm not sure what weapons you are talking about. The list of used OSPs can be found on the site (Help icon).

There are no levels In Mercenaries. All players have the same number of free attribute and skill points. The idea is to not give an advantage to old players.

I can tell you how things work in Mercenaries but I wouldn't like to compare it with other mods directly.

One of the main ideas of Mercenaries is that old players are not supposed to have advantages in the form of high levels, item upgrades or something like that. All characters have the same amount of free attribute and skill points, you can change your build easily, the most expensive rare items do not have better characteristics than the normal ones etc. So, the idea is to put everyone on equal footing. Sure, it's not possible to make a rusty pick or a spiked club as effective as a warhammer or a good iron axe but the starting gold should be enough to buy a good weapon for a new character. Also, it won't take too much time to earn enough gold and buy any weapon you want.

Teams are balanced by characters' global K/D ratio and there's a not very aggressive class balancer too. It checks balance after every round. Also, plate armor doesn't give an absolute advantage, it has penalties too (reduces speed, reduces weapon proficiencies). Some very good players wear light/medium armor.

If you are new and not able to kill enemies, make sure you have a nice weapon. Also, you can buy a shield even if you do not want to spend free skill points on the Shield skill. The starting gold (3000 + 1000) should be enough to buy a decent gear, just don't spend all your starting gold on armor.

This guide may be useful too: Forums.mbmerc.com

The problem is in your serial key. If you want to play in the multiplayer mode, you need to buy Mount & Blade: Warband.

What server do you mean? European servers do not require any passwords. But normally players register accounts to get access to the personal mercenary class. It will allow you to create a character, define its characteristics, buy items etc.

JacobEdwards, your comment isn't fair. Yes, you played against real enemies, not against bots. Sure, if you are not experienced and do not know how things work, they are going to kill you. If you don't like cavalry, you could play on the siege server. Horsemen are not effective there. However, it's hard to balance them on all maps of the battle server. Sure, if you fight on an open field, they are going to have an advantage. But still, the problem isn't that serious as it seems to be. The average K/D of cavalry on the battle server is just slightly higher than K/D of shielders, polearmers etc. For example, during the last 2 days only 40% of all kills on the battle server were made by cavalry and archers. Other kills were made by infantry.

Archers are not overpowered at all. Also, you can use a shield even if you don't want to spend free skill points on the Shield skill.

Sorry, I cannot understand the problem. What do you mean by installing it with textures? Have you downloaded the full setup file? Or do you mean that the problem occurred when you tried to download it from Mod DB?

If you get kicked from servers, please send me the name of your account and character in a private message. Normally you should see a red message in the chat after being kicked. Probably you are trying to use a name registered by another player.

Our servers are located in Europe and, sure, they were empty late at night. Now the battle server is populated by players. The siege server is going to be full during the Happy Hour (18:00-19:00 UTC).

Sorry, milk666, but your review is absolutely wrong. You don't even know what you are talking about. Today there were 80-100 players on the Siege server during Happy Hour. There were 30-40 players on the Battle server during the day. Isn't it enough for the servers to not be "useless"?

RPG factor? We have no levels, all mercenaries have the same number of skill points. Also, heavy armors have significant penalties. A lot of people prefer light armors. It's supposed to work this way, I try to make as many items useful as possible.

Most of the archers use light armors. If I remember right, the average armor class of archers is close to 30.

The majority of cavalrymen use light horses. Not because they don't have enough gold, they just prefer speed over armor class. We don't even have plated horses.

Are you sure you played Mercenaries?

It shouldn't be hard to find our servers. Just wait for the server list to be fully loaded and order it by module. I'm assuming that you have a licensed version of the game. You can find specific instructions there: Moddb.com (How to find game servers).

The installation directory should be detected automatically. If the game directory is wrong or you have more than one copy of the game, just specify the right directory of your game. For example, "C:\Program Files\Mount & Blade Warband" or "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\MountBlade Warband". Then just choose the "Mercenaries" module in the launcher.

By the way, installation instructions can be found there: Moddb.com

I have just checked the sutup file and found no problems. Make sure that you installed the module correctly. Please try reinstalling it. Also, try running the "Force Update" shortcut. You can find it in the Windows Start menu. It will check your version of the module and all lacking files will be downloaded automatically.

That's why it's better to not spend your starting gold on armor and secondary items. Buy a good weapon and you'll be able to deal damage and kill. Notice that blunt and piercing damage is more effective against heavy armor.

Old players' characters don't have better characteristics. Heavy armor gives better protection but it also penalizes weapon proficiencies and decreases speed. Many old players use light armors. The only problem is that they may have more fighting experience than newbies.

There's a training server for newbies but this idea doesn't work and the server is never populated. It's better to play on the public servers. There you can improve your skill and you'll be earning gold even if you don't have much kills. Also, you could try practicing your fighting skills with friends on the duel server.

Also, rewards are higher during Happy Hour (17:00-18:00 GMT). It may be easier to get some kills on the siege server.

Hi! All our game servers are located in Europe. Servers are populated from 12:00 to 23:00 GMT. Normally we play the battle mode but our siege server is highly populated every day between 17:00 and 18:00 GMT. During this hour, all players get double rewards.
