I wish it was that easy but unfortunately its not, I dont know about you but I dont have the money to throw around for lawyers and I dont have the time to be sitting in a court room just to dispute something thats not worth it in the end, I am not getting any money for making mods so what exactly is in it for me?

Sadly enough guys I ran into some legal issues with the mod and I am no longer going to be able to complete it, in the future once the issue is resolved I may be able to continue to work on it but as of right now I have been put into a corner and in this case I am not willing to fight for it cause it became a legal issue due to a "post" I had made which was corrected shortly after...anyways guys I do appologize but the legal issue behind it all speaks for itself and as much as I would have loved to have finished the mod I dont own the company or the rights to the game...maybe Viviendi will make another expansion and use my ideas or hoepfully they will finally release SWAT 5 since it was paid for and almost completed...who knows!!!

Your absolutely correct, Public Beta is not the correct status but Moddb.com only allows the status to be set to Internal Alpha or Public Beta which are both incorrect so we went with the closest one to the truth which is Public Beta...hehe

Unfortunately we dont have a public release date as of yet but we hav entered into the final stages of testing, I would assume the mod will be completed in the next few weeks and once it has been we are going to start working on the first update for it which will include a few new maps and guns and as time progresses with the mod more content will be added through the auto update service the mod checks on launch.

Thanks bro, I will keep that in mind. As for right now we are only adding in 2 alternative unis per side but we may add a full unis pack after release as one of the updates.

As for recent events for those of you with an artistic background we are currently holding a T-Shirt contest from our site, the winner of the contest will receive a free T-Shirt and a limited edition copy of Take Down. We have aslo recently added a donation button onto our site to assist with getting a domain and host as well as a few other things to do with Take Down such as dedicated servers and things of that nature so if your willing to help us out check out our site.

Cheers!

As of right now we are starting into the final stages of Alpha testing and it will be in Beta about a week from now, once the mod enters into beta I am assuming it will only take about two or maybe three weeks before the mod is 100% complete.

As for the comment Slinky, we are doing this for the community for free and if we choose to take till next year to release it then so be it its not your place to make comments about our 'estimated' release date...k thx

No problem, I'm always happy to let people know whats up with the mod.

I would also like to add that we are only about a week away from the community beta and we are still accepting applications from the community so for those of you who havent signed up and are wanting to help out with the mod I would suggest signing up for the community beta as soon as possible because we will be turning people away as of April 20th, during the test you will get the ability to have a hands on with all the new weapons and kit items and you will be involved in testing the Barricaded Suspect and VIP multiplayer maps as they come available. For anyone who is interested in signing up you will need a valid copy of SWAT 4 and you will be required to have a valid forum account at the Hellbringer Entertainment forum (which you need to register at), to register visit us at S14.invisionfree.com and good luck to those of you who enter...Cheers!

You should have no problems, the system requirements I posted are just to be able to have the optimal graphics and such but its truely just a guess since some of the testers we have are running older systems with slower video cards its really hard to say at this point. As for the memory check it will not take up much resources and in the long run it will prevent most injected cheats from being able to be used as well since it will search the coding for certian lines of code we use in the CRC checksum and prevent the player from loading or playing if they are using them, all in all though I think the addition of this will be a great feature and it will basically allow for alot more network play on ladders and leagues so its something we have been concidering and we will more than likely add it in near the completion of the mod and test it on several different types of computers to see if it lags systems down or is manageable. Cheers!

Actually we have 2 counter messures in place to prevent cheating thus far, we currently have the Antic anti-cheat system as well as the MD5 Checksum running and checking all the files for network play. I doubt very highly that we will have any issues with cheaters being able to really get away with very much since it checks all the ini files while the game is loading for each round, though some people may be leary of this cause it will cause slow load times on some peoples computers it is also the best way we have found as of yet to prevent cheating across the board. One of the next things we are looking into as well is including a memory check either in the executable or in one of the class packages as well but that is kind or up in the air still at this time, we will be releasing further information about that in the coming weeks as we get closer to the release of the mod and hopefully it will be good news...Cheers!

Yup...Take Down is 100% free and will remain that way.

As of right now we are on the second stage of the alpha testing and we will be going to the third stage as of this weekend and already we have more than half of the primary weapons tested and have all the bugs fixed in them...I'm almost positive that we will have the mod out within the next two months and we will be announcing the release roughly 2 weeks prior to its release so keep an eye out for it...thanks for the support...Cheers!

Upon release it will not be geared towards co-op or realism at all, however Jaster is looking into making a version of the 11-99 mod for Take Down and he is accepting suggestions on the hot swat mods forum as to what people would like to see in his mod. The reason we have chosen NOT to add co-op or realism elements into the mod is gearing a mod towards one specific gameplay type limits the ability for the mod to be enjoyed by the entire community and causes the mod to be downloaded less, although many people might think co-op and realism mods are great only about 10% of the community use them in daily gameplay and out of those 10% using them only 1 or 2 servers are seen in multiplayer. Our goal for the Take Down mod is to have this so the entire community can use it as a base to build off of and hopefully in the future it will be the most player friendly mod for the SWAT community and brings more attention back to the community for all of our friends who have left for games that offer more of the elements we have added...Cheers!

Officially we entered alpha stages of testing as of Wednesday (thank god) and we are coming up on the second test later today or early tomorrow which will have additional guns and hopefully the new effects I have been working on for muzzle flashes. In total I would assume we will be testing a total of about 10 times over the next few weeks and once the testing has been completed it will be roughly 2-3 weeks after that we release the final version if not less (depending on how long it takes to make the video's and the changes to the GUI needed for the mod). I am going to say that in the later testing stages we will be allowing for some community involvement but as for right now I cant make any promises on who will be allowed to join in on the testing, If your interested in joining in on the testing I would appretiate if you would visit the Hellbringer Entertainment site and add yourself to the Community Beta section of the forum that will be up later today with the required information, those people who do not add the required information will be disreguarded for the Community Beta as will anyone who attempt to contact myself or any other member of the Hellbringer Entertainment team asking to join in on testing. Anyways I have to get back to working on the effects for TD...Enjoy!

Thanks for checkin in with me Inner, I'll catch up with you sometime in the next few days, I have been really busy with doing some new models and working on a map for the community beta team and really havent been online lately.

For anyone who has been watching the mod, I have posted some new screen shots up in the Hellbringer forum for those of you who are interested in checking them out. I will be posting more shots on the forum over the next few days but for right now its a limited amount of shots that I posted...Cheers!

I'd have to say that Stanace is right on this one, those questions have been answered time and time again on several of the other forums. The hellbringer forum is going to primarily be used once the add-on is completed and we dont pay much attention to the forum right now and we havent been answering questions on it because most questions people have asked on our forum have been mentioned or answered elsewhere.

Just to answer some of the questions here...

"By slinky164 | Thu 8th Mar, 2007 @ 3:14:43pm
I hope u really are sure that it coming out soon...feels like 4ever....wake me up when its out thxs"

As Toker says to most people that ask..."it will be done when its done"...if we rush things it will end up being like TSS and thats something we would like to avoid :)

"By calvinliang | Thu 8th Mar, 2007 @ 8:33:56pm
Wouldn't a tactical shooter be alot better if it has ironsights, no just aimpoints or crosshairs? Hostile Intent can be alot more realistic and tactical than this game, so comeon put some iron sights in, they did it with Rainbow Six Raven Shield."

We are actually working on iron sights though they wont be actual iron sights they are simulated to give the same look and feel as iron sights have in game...to actually add iron sights we would have to basically rewrite all the scripting and I know from a personal stand point I am not willing to spend that much time on a free add-on...hehe

"By netrolf | Fri 9th Mar, 2007 @ 12:16:26am
In the ghost recon 2 manual they say that M8 is from colt, not from HK..."

A little research goes a long way when it comes to something like this, the manufaturer of the XM8 prototyped weapon is Heckler & Kosh and more info about the gun and why it was discontinued can be found at this link... En.wikipedia.org

assuming this works with swat4 uk 1.1? "

Yes it will work with all regional versions of SWAT 4 v1.1 and above.

This is actually a mod based on version 1.1 of SWAT 4 and unfortunately will not be used on conjunction with TSS, the reason we hav chosen to stick with v1.1 is it has a higher volume of players and much more activity.

During this first test in the internal alpha stage we will be testing a few different aspects of the game, the major things to be tested are going to be the lobbies, anti-cheat, admin tools and the dedicated servers as well as we will be testing 10 of the primary guns, 5 of the secondary guns, all of the new grenades and some of the new armor choices so everyone should be checking back regularly over the next week for screen shots taken by the test team just to get a glimps of what to expect with the final version of the mod. I know from a personal stand point I think that with the tools, weapons, armor and maps it will impact the SWAT gaming community in a big way and we will start seeing more large scale mods or add-on's for Take Down start popping up in the community and I know that Jaster of the 11-99 team is really looking forward to the chance to mod Take Down for the Co-op and Realism fans so shortly after release I would assume you will be able to look forward to one of his releases of the 11-99 Enhancement mod for Take Down...anyways guys I am just getting some files together for the test team right now so I better get back to work...in the mean time if any of you have any suggestions for Jaster on what you'd like to see added into the add-on he is planning stop by and throw up some suggestions on the Hot-Swat-Mods forum post hes got going on in the SWAT 4 Mods section...Cheers!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on what we are working on, currently we've been working with ATL and PFA to fine tune the weapons list and we are planning on beginning the beta stages of the mod within the next week or so. With that being said I am looking for more poll votes on ATL's Hot-Swat-Mods so we can have more community input, when you go to their site you will see we have a dedicated forum and a large story on the main page so make sure you stop by HSM for a little more of a detailed description of the mod and some more screen shots...Cheers!

Beta testing for the mod is all being done internally, after it hits the beta stage it will only take about 5 or 6 days before its released unless we find major bugs in it which I dont think we will have many problems with.

We are expecting to have things to a beta stage within the next few weeks, right now we are finishing off some of the mapping and a little bit of scripting that is needed then we will be doing an internal beta. Hopefully by the end of Febuary it will be totally completed and released but at this time I cant make any promises due to possible bug issues that will need to be worked out...keep your fingers crossed though...hehehe

Thanks for all the interest everyone is giving this project on here as well as on 10-david and our site, I have recieved several emails and have had numerous people contact me on MSN reguarding the project and it is good to see that our community backing is so large, I am hoing that everyone enjoys the final product as much as I myself have enjoyed making the maps and all. I would also like to say that if anyone has serious input on what they would like to see (within reason) or if anyone is interested in helping out on the project we are always looking for people to help out with things like making models, textures, maps, characters and all the other fun stuff...Cheers!!!
