Im hoping to take some of the technology form counter strike condition zero to use in the Daedulus MOD. For example the weather systems and particle efefcts etc. If anyone thinks this might be a good or a bad idea please let me know. I would like to avoid making it a Half-Life 2 MOD if i can, as that would mean alot of redevelopment of the Models etc. if we moved to half-Life 2

actually it doesn't do to badly. ive ran this level on my mates 550MHz P3 and he has a 32Mb riva tnt 2 agp and it ran ok.

the MOD is only 40Mb in size at the moment. It uses spirit of half-life 1.2 as the core engine for the MOD (this allows us to use fog, and particle effects without extensive coding knowledge) So you needn't worry about a huge download. Your help is appreciated and needed, so when I release the alpha for testing ill notify you be e-mail or PM.

thanks for your feedback. the MOD is only around 30MB in size at the moment as their is no wad files. All the textures for the MOD are contained in the .BSP files. When the release is ready i will post it to the daedulus website and notify you by e-mail or PM

map progress has been really good recently. those who are interested in alpha testing of the first few levels let us know we need feedback to make the gameflow right for a public release.

patience friend. A screen of the vast cargo area complete with cargo (funnily enough) will be here soon. This is the entrance to the said cargo area which i admit i didn't explain properly!

Obviously, By high poly count i mean in the sense that you will need at least an agp 3d card to play the game (software mode wont play it good enough), at a decent frame rate. I dont intend to go as high as to choke the engine. However your point is valid and i have taken note.

ive used the aurora particle engine in spirit 1.2 to give some of the levels a better look. Ive reworked quite a lot of the intro level after your feedback Donkey81, its now a much better level. ive added a cutscene at the beginning of the intro level, of the shuttle alex is on board landing. ive made a credits sequence with a cool scrolling/fade effect for the names (you willl see what i mean on jan31st) ive also added more to the grange station including a generator complex and grange shuttle bay. ive made the lighting more moodier for the grange station (with pulsating red lights to give an atmospehere of suspense). Thats the things i can thing of the top of my head to be in Alpha 0.3.

Jab i dont know whats happening with the boards but let us know when you get the illusive e-mail and ill sort out the administrator rights for you. The boards should get busier when i release an Alpha version to team members. im going to post another script this wknd with more story up to leaving the grange station if your interested in reading it.

before i apologise to much why on earth do you have administrator rights to my MOD at moddb.com if youre not a lead team member. as you can see an easy mistake to make. if you feel ****** off about this then feel free to leave the MOD team. i can happily fill the role of GFX artists with someone with more experience and less attitude. I would have appreciated a much more calm message regarding my mistake.

As you can see the polygon count for daedulus maps is going to be quite high. but i thought that might be ok as its 2004 and the average system now runs at around 1.2 GHz anyway.

Its about 130Kb coz theres a screenshot in the script to give you a feel for where you are in the story. it's in Word format aswell. but i need other peoples input to make the story less "Sterile" I dont know where to post it though for people to download it.
