I'm a freelance general purpose guy, I can do textures, modeling, animation, and programming. Though I tend to focus on the first two. I do all this as a hobby for my own enjoyment. I am currently a part of the mod team for Freeworlds Tides of War, a mod for the game Freelancer, I spend most of my time working on texture updates but I've also done a bit of modeling.

I was asked what my process for creating a normal map from a simple diffuse texture was, so in response I created the following image. Now I decided to post it up here so everyone can check it out and hopefully someone can learn from it.
