One major change that I made in this map is that I blocked out most of the large ceiling windows in this map to prevent the sunlight from coming in, thus making these areas even more dark.
Another addition to the map is the greenish ambient fog that is seen throughout the entire scene.
did you also remove the superfluos .prt events? cuss those are a true fps-killer, at least on my old puter
Superfluous .prt events? Can you describe them and where are they?
I want to know exactly what to remove.
the sandstorms are unneeded with you blocking them, all the outdoors activities in other words, remove them and see what a huge impact it makes, altho youre on a monsterputer now so you prob wont notice the diff, but for us poor tossers with older rigs, removing even a cpl of .prt events makes a big diff, umm theres some custom map, a dungeonlike very dark map with like 500 candles ie 500 .prt, i removed all of them for fun and it was like i added another 1gb ram :p
Yeah, I blocked off the sun light but I did forget to remove the sand clouds that are hovering over them.
As for my puter, it's 2 and a half years old and it's now way far from being a monsterputer when compared to the current standards.
more for fun (i guess) im gonna take some maps and remove as much of the .prt that i can, maybe ill upload a stripped down bare version of some stock doom map so ppl can try it and notice its huge impact with/without a load of .prt-s
