The Stanley Parable

Mod review may contain spoilers

I don't know how to start with this mod.

Just download and launch it, it doesn't last long and IS fun.

... don't look for spoilers here, launch the damn thing !

... you launched the mod, right ?

... oh, Stanley -I can call you Stanley ?- that mod is perfect for you, it's funny, short, and you can stop it whenever you want if you don't like it.

... No, Stanley, you shouldn't be reading that review, it was written for people who already played the game, what would happen if you do things in the wrong order ? Nobody's knows.

... Ok, if you want spoilers, you'll get spoilers.

... That mod is about making decisions. Decisions like stopping to read a review warning you of SPOILERS and launching the MOD instead, like listening to what other players are saying, something anyone looking for new and interesting gaming experiences would do.

... Maybe you weren't meant to play that mod, maybe something deep inside yourself prevented you to play it like other people, it was your destiny.

... It's up to you : don't play that game and spoil it by reading the reviews, or play it now.

... It doesn't matter anymore, you reached a point where your decision won't change it : it won't be yours, it won't be mine.

... This review is almost over anyway, you may have spoiled the game to yourself, and now you'll have to play it to see what you may have missed or not.

... Oh, don't overreact, there is no escape from the situation, no exit door, don't try to find a solution, there isn't one.

... Sure, you may wish to live in the dark, without ever knowing if you missed an opportunity that day, having spoiled yourself or not, but in the end it will be the same : the review is now done and you read it.

... You could also be missing an excellent mod just because someone decided to wrote an obscure review on Desura, probably to keep the mod for himself and you fell for it.

... Gah, I gave you the power of choice and have you done with it ? Nothing.

I am quite disappointed, Stanley.
