gameplay notes:
- first level is very linear, long hallways with doors that don't go anywhere, feels like the complete opposite of doom's design
- definitely feels like someone's first doom mod
- large size of level + reduced movement speed + boring combat... bad combo
- tutorial feels unnecessary, most players of doom mods are very familiar with how gzdoom works
- platforming puzzle seems to be broken or relies on a jump powerup that didn't spawn on the difficulty level i was using
- naming difficulty levels in an insulting way sucks imo, not a good first impression
- tutorial mentions crouching while moving to slide? doesn't work, also mentions kicking which doesn't work either. playing with both files running in the included build of gzdoom. no binds in the menu either.
- level 2 was massive and aimless, i got a message about finding a shotgun in my apartment (i already had a shotgun, which made that question a bit confusing.) but i wasn't given any direction, i ended up wandering around a bunch and getting lost.

post-game notes:
- i ended up finding out how to do the kick and slide function after playing the game and trying to figure out what the plot was, not a good place to put vital information imo, put important information that the game requires in a readme inside the download!
- honestly i didn't feel like there's much of a connection between the game and trans-ness? the character being trans was something that didn't come up and it all just kind of felt like it was a detail put in for no reason. at times i felt like it was a joke mod meant to make fun of trans people. i also didn't get much of the plot.
- tbh i dont think this deserves the vitriol people are giving it in the comments, although i guess people on this website have a habit of being pissy whenever anything vaguely left-wing gets brought up. that's Gamers for ya. post on the zdoom forums next time.
- this game did credit the authors of assets and has more effort put into it than 90% of Le Epic Offensive Meme Doom Wads i've seen. although tbh crediting people is a bare minimum,
- for folks who want a retro-fps game with trans-ness as a main theme, i highly recommend Oleander Garden's games, PAGAN: Autogeny is about crafting a new body for oneself inside a dead MMO, Hexcraft: Harlequin Fair is an immersive sim about finding strange things in toronto.

A failed attempt at imitating Crack-Life, with little in the way of actual modifications.

Most of the file size is taken up by original, unmodified HL1 assets. The whole mod could have been a couple of megabytes, but the inclusion of the *entirety* of base HL1 bloats it up to over 200mb. For comparison, Crack-Life Anniversary Edition is 170mb. Poke343 is 145mb.

The jokes are mediocre and low-effort. Most of the modifications to models are just slapping swastikas and the word "hitler" onto the textures in MS Paint. These jokes were already tired in 2013, and are even more so now.

Even in its hardest attempts to be edgy and funny, it just comes off as lazy and boring.

It also rips off some concepts from Crack-Life and some textures too. E.G. scientists having large feet and afros, the einstein head having a long nose and a wide mustache, etc. Even the "luther" scientist's face texture is ripped directly from Crack-Life.

If you want an actually decent messup mod experience, give Jamie's Mod or the Anniversary Edition of Crack-Life a go. Those mods actually have unique edits to the game and some semi-funny jokes. This is a waste of time, effort, internet bandwidth and hard drive space.

(Seriously, messup mods are tired and boring, do something better with your time.)

Absolutely awful. One of the worst mods I have played yet. All it is is an edit of a preexisting map for Counter-Strike to add scientists, some really bad weapon modifications that aren't even properly animated and the whole game feels like a fever dream. I know this is an "EDGY" game but this is just ****. If anything it would only be useful to plant on a school shooter's hard drive.
