Hey,

I downloaded Magic Owl and gave it a download.

I enjoyed it, it was a peaceful musical experience, it was fun to move around and see the different sound combinations you could do.

If I have one thing to say it would be simply to tweak the instructions of the controls to mention that you just need to tap the space bar to randomly move (and not hold it!)

That's about it. A great little experience!

I made a video of my "playthrough" on Youtube.com - you can check it out if you like!

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm unfortunately getting a bug where I cannot do anything but move.
It happened when I fell off the platforms, apart from moving I couldn't jump, switch characters or even press escape.

I got to the first enemy safely, but the same thing happened and so I was not able to attack him. It's very unfortunate as it looks promising and I'd really love to play through it!

Hey,

So I gave the game a little run, honestly, I can't say much about it because it's pretty basic as it is (I realise this is just a demo!).

As it stands it's just a demo to show the environment of the indoors and outdoor cemetery. The game definitely scared me with the first jump scare, but I thought it was a little out of place. I mean in terms of sounds, but also design. The guy in bright white dress laughing as he jumps as you could've been much more creepier, same with the appearance in the grave yard.

In short, there's potential to make it much more creepier by working on the enemies, but also importantly on the story. The story is always an important part to get the immersion going and to know what you're actually dealing with. Technically, it looks pretty good, I liked the music ambiance, but that shortly stopped after, definitely get more of that in there!

Good luck with the game, I made a video of my playthrough on Youtube.com - Check it out if you wish, thanks!

Hey thank you for stopping by my Youtube.com channel, I was wondering where I had seen the username "LightYarn" from haha!

As I said in my reply, the game is very very atmospheric and has great potential. It definitely gave me the creeps and I know I only scratched the surface in the little game session I did.

I look forward to things ironing out in terms of performance, but there is definitely a good structure going on here and it seems to be going in the right direction as a good horror game.

I can only recommend players to go on ahead and download this free alpha and to check it out for themselves - you might just be surprised!

Thank you and good luck with the development! (:

Thank you for your time to reply and watch my video! But you know, I'm just a regular player who wished to try out your game - I'm definitely not a qualified reviewer!

I did indeed finish the game and uploaded the video. The second part of the library gave me some trouble for sure!!

I have to say I was surprised by the ending and I wonder if I missed something, but considering the very last scene after the credits I imagine that's just the way it was intended.

Overall as I said previously, I was thoroughly impressed by this little game. I didn't find any notable bugs that broke the gameplay or hindered it in anyway, and yeah - it was just very well polished! When I downloaded it and launched it for the first time, I didn't know it was a student project, but after knowing that I was even more impressed.

It honestly is a great experience that, for me, is on parr with some developments of the big studios out there. Very professionally made, original and inspiring. Well done!

Thanks.

Hey! I downloaded the game and gave it a spin today.

I've made a Youtube.com video playing through the first few minutes and I have to say I am very very impressed! The game looks fantastic graphically, but also artistically. It has a lot of charm and a lovable universe; the environment, the characters, the glowing pyjamas! Not to mention the soundtrack and narration which are spot on.

I found the gameplay mechanics fun and original too; using the camera to solve puzzles and move forward, it's a real great concept.

I've not played it to the end (I thought it was longer), but will tomorrow. But from what I've seen today I can say that it is a very good piece of gaming software you guys have made here - I'm really impressed and wish you luck in your future adventures!

Hey,

I've played the Alpha myself and I have to say it is a very well made game, it looks very promising. The game looks good graphically and the atmosphere is spot on; very dark and "sick". I can also see how the story can develop nicely into something pretty interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I've uploaded a video on Youtube.com where I got a few scares and discovered a few bugs such as walking through the door and falling and opening that door in the cells which leads to an inevitable fall - but it's Alpha it's understandable.

Good luck with the game!
