Quantum Rush mega update: computer controlled NPCs to fill up the lobbies!

GameArtStudio Blog

Today, the long expected mega update for the online racer Quantum Rush went live. Fortunately, the wait has been worth the while! Next to many new features and improvements, the beta testers were first of all looking forward to the introduction of computer controlled NPCs – long waits for more people to join the lobby are now a thing of the past!

Additionally, the update brings a whole lot of other new features that make Quantum Rush more user-friendly and increase its visual appeal.

The Quantum Rush team has paid attention to their fans' feedback, many suggestions made by the community have been taken into account. One example for that is the drastically improved sensation of speed. The team has uploaded a video with a before and after comparison to the GameArt Studio YouTube channel.

Another important aspect of today's update was the lag optimisation: The racer now reacts immediately to all player input instead of waiting for confirmation from the server. A complex prediction and synchronisation system makes sure that the position of the racer on the client is as close as possible to the position of the racer on the server. This system is still in development and it has some flaws, but is already an improvement over the old system.

As had already been announced earlier, the research section's graphical interface has been revised to make it more intuitive.

The new pickup “Stasis Sphere” will hinder the first-placed players, making the outcome of a race less predictable at any given time.

As with the past updates, the graphics of the race tracks have been further improved.

If you haven't had a look at Quantum Rush yet, this is a good time to do so. The easiest way to obtain a beta key is to register for the Quantum Rush Newsletter or write an email to the developers.

The Quantum Rush Team wishes the beta testers a fun time on the race tracks and is looking forward to their feedback.

New track for online racer Quantum Rush!

GameArtStudio Blog

A new track with the preliminary name “GT1” is now available in the online racer Quantum Rush. Like the already existing tracks, GT1 offers a few special features and may shake up the highscores.

The action-packed online game from Berlin-based developer GameArt Studio is currently in the closed beta phase and so there are updates and bugfixes on a weekly basis.

The highlight of today's update is the new track. The pilots can look forward to races with little wall contact as the race track is especially wide.

Skilled players may avoid crashes with the track borders altogether. However, there are so-called slowing lanes on both sides of the track. These do not cause energy loss when driving over them, but will slow the racer down.

Many more surprises await you on the new track, like a gigantic quarter pipe with an energy restoration lane at the outer edge and numerous chicanes that will put your skills to the test.

The new track is available from Tier 1 to Tier 5.

The Quantum Rush team is eager to see how you like the new track and they are looking forward to your feedback.

Hint: In order to have more testers online at the same time, please try to log in between 19:00 and 21:00 CET!

Today's patch also includes changes to the existing tracks and balancing optimizations:

The Canyon track received more pickups and boosters pads while booster pads and pick-ups in the Coastal and Airport tracks were distributed in a more balanced way.

It is also not possible anymore to use weapons and pick-ups after completing the last lap.

Because many engines now have a better energy refill rate, the refill rate of the energy lanes has been reduced to 90%.

You can look up all changes on the official Quantum Rush website.

Quantum Rush – Race in Space!

GameArtStudio Blog

Hello pilots,

Today, we have a new highlight for you, namely a video of a brand-new racetrack.

What is special about this track: it’s in space! You will be racing over and through various asteroids and reckless mining machines constitute an additional hazard.

This new racetrack, which will already be available in the closed beta of Quantum Rush, demands a high degree of skill from the pilot and is a good example for the wild possibilities offered by the game’s racing mechanics.

The new, innovative track elements make for an exciting challenge for skilled players and – in our opinion – also look really good.

We hope you like the new track as much as we do and we are always happy to receive your feedback!
