If everything required is not there, the optional esp's will not install to the data directory, NMM and FOMM read the script and only install them if the requirements are met.
If you manual drag em there, ya, you no have mods no workey.
You can always use FNVedit to read the headers to see what a esp requires to run.
Yea, I am sure the readme will get updated, I was also sure someone would bring this up, as I can see the future :)
