This mod is terrible.
And let me just say this first - I love modders and what they do to improve games and provide them with longevity. I've probably modded every game I've ever owned (that allowed mods). So it is with a heavy heart that I **** on other peoples hard work.
But when it comes to Diablo I and II, the mods absolutely suck for a variety of reasons. BFH is one of them, and this is why:
Music has been changed. Completely destroys immersion and the atmosphere of the original. The tune playing in the starting area is complete crap and belongs in a Fisher Price-RPG for consoles.
Rogue starting camp has gotten a new and way too fancy layout. It's supposed to be a camp under siege surrounded by danger. Now it's become a palace with columns, roads, etc. Again: destroys immersion and doesn't represent the universe that is Diablo.
All of this could be forgiven, but then I discovered how the gameplay was balanced. Hawlp meh. After my first fight (7-8 mobs) I was level four and could equip a fire spell that one shotted absolutely everything. After some fifteen minutes of playing I was level 15 with 158 skillpoints that I didn't bother spending as it wasn't necessary (at /players 8...).
What the developer was thinking I can only guess at. One thing is clear though - that person obviously hates RPGs. Jesus christ, the entire point of the genre is getting a thrill from slowly progressing. You know - getting stronger, getting better spells, getting better gear. In this mod you're a demi-god after two minutes of playtime.
There is basically no documentation to be found either, other than a .doc document that requires MS Word to open (which everyone does not have, believe it or not).
And I could go on.
A piece of advice - avoid this one, unless you love Diablo III.
