Update on previous comment, it seems every time the crystal golems use "shoot shard" there is a 50-100% chance of creating more crystal golems.

Your Enchanter reimagened mod thread is locked so I figured I should post information for it here if you are still interested. The Crystal golem DOES spread. After a fight it split into another two crystal golems leaving me with 3.
