It's not impossible, it's just that the Laserpen is used for guiding companions and cats aren't used as companions, having the Laserpen work as a kind of alternate catnip would make its inconsistent and potentially confusing for players, so it would only make sense to add if we made the cats into companions, which isn't planned at least for now
As for realism, this is a series where snorting catnip can slow down time like the Matrix, it's fine for us to be unrealistic
We won't be speculating on release dates unless we have a date we're fully confident we can fulfil
Also, as mentioned in our previous devblog (Devblog 5) we'll likely go through a closed testing period before opening up to a public release, and how long that could take could vary depending on tester feedback
Yeah, we have a budget of exactly $0 and ¢0 so our project is purely volunteer based, because of that our team members can't be expected to work to a consistent schedule or place the project above more important things like education or paid jobs
As a result a task you expect to take a month could instead take 2 months or 3 if the person responsible for it has less free time, and if they happen to have more time it could instead take a week or 2, this means we have to plan around guesswork on when things can be worked on and with so many tasks to do it piles up, other projects like Postal 3 Unreal been in development for extremely long periods for similar reasons
But even with these factors, you can see by reading our devblogs how much we've been able to do, and we hope to keep up that substantial progress, thanks for your interest!
Currently this isn't planned because Cats don't act as companions in the way that recruited Dogs (or Motorhead) do
They essentially act as a more advanced throwable weapon and so guiding them with the laserpen wouldn't fit their role
Turning the Cats into a companion type like the Dogs would require redesigns that likely wouldn't be worth the time investment
Yes it is, CR continues on from P2 and Apocalypse Weekend, future titles in the series (eg. Paradise Lost, POSTAL 4) are not canon

Yes they are, we decided on the 2D art because it's just easier to work with, SFM cutscenes take our animators weeks or even months to finish, which is just too long to make good progress, the art ones take only a few days
We had all the material from the leaks before they actually went public, so we've already been using them for a while
As Kenny said it's possible to do and we did manage to add it, but it was pretty buggy. If we put it in the game not only would we have to do a bunch of fixing but we would also have to redesign all of the maps to make sure you can't use jumping to get into areas you aren't meant to, it's just not worth working on when we have so much more stuff to worry about.
No there isn't a release date, we're currently focusing on the Demo for the mod. It also isn't standalone, it will need P3 to play.
