I admit it is a hard decision to make, both of them are splendid.
Viking Conquest's got many new stuffs plus a nicely polished main quest. It is undeniable that VC is an excellent mod. However, despite its numerous new characteristics, none of them are explored to their full potential. Why not add battle ship customization such as Vikingr shields on the sides of ships, battleship rams, and shooting slots at lower deck? How about adding sailing proficiency to soldiers? What about more changing climates on the sea and some more random events? Too many new things make too many oversights, if you ask me.
1860 on the other hand did quite a good job concentrating on horse-back shooting. No fancy diplomacy and side lines, no sea battles and wildwest events, but 1860 is the ace when it comes to battle experiences. Gab did quite a good job concentrating on balancing weapons so that they fits in the combats.
Both of them are good mods, and I am not going to compare them - they are completely different in themes and goals. I went for 1860 simply because its concentration on its unique features - beaten in numbers, but best in quality. Still, the reloading anime could be better and the cannon mechanism is yet to be implemented, but that's probably asking too much.

I've been playing the mod since the very beginning, when arenas still have floating torches and bears got to enter them(loved the invisible helm and cheat weapons). All I could say now is that, it must be taking a good amount of work to make it smooth and attractive as it is now. Work that should be appreciated and admired.

To people who was leaving ungrateful comments, I just want to remind them that wheels have been invented for over three thousand years now. Why not move on to the civilized era?

Oh and I really want the nudity back. It would be such a good change to have them back in taverns. Louvre is full of them as well so I don't see the point to take nudity down. Quite astonished when I saw the NO_NUDE patch. Really childish for people trying to avoid that.

And finally, this is the best mod I have ever seen so far! And I have played a lot of them: Viking Conquest, Ice and Fire, King of Ring, Pendor, Napoleonic war, l'aigle, 1257, 1429, Fire & Sword, and so on. Those are great mods, and I am grateful I have experienced them, but this is still the best. I really hope this could be developed into an official DLC, gaining a larger forum group (and more polite maybe), and probably making a much fruity version in the Bannerlord!
