Yes, as long as you follow the instructions clearly. Our launcher has a button you can click to wipe FL's cache files which cause crashes when starting up other mods, so all you need to do is hit that button and you should be good.

Random crashes are unusual, the game should be running smoothly. There are a few stations that ships are known to get caught on. In multiplayer this isn't an issue due to the /stuck command, but I can definitely see it being a pain in singleplayer.

If you could elaborate more on when the crashes occurred and what you were doing at the time, it would help.

Once you run the installer you shouldn't have to do anything manually again, the launcher checks for and downloads patches each time you start it up.

Occasionally we've had issues with antiviruses deleting dsace.dll, which is responsible for cheat detection. If this happens all you'll need to do is go on the forums, redownload it, and stick it in the EXE folder of your Neo Terra directory.

Player owned bases and a few other features will only function if you host your own server, but you're able to play open world single player as well.

We intend to fully release before the end of the month!

Right now its just atmospheric, and until we switch to a different engine it is unlikely that you'll be able to approach the surface fully - it simply doesn't look very good due to technical limitations.

Guilds/clans/factions/whatever you want to call them we are intending to implement a fleet chat plugin for, allowing you to communicate with all members of your faction without needing to join a group with them. Neo Terra is heavily teamplay centric, and our game mechanics such as territory control and crafting incentivize working in groups, giving your faction plenty to do.

For now you can own as many ships as you like with the classic Freelancer account system, with an account switcher and generator fully integrated into our launcher. In the future however we intend to code in a garage system, which will allow you to switch ships on the fly ingame on the same character provided you return to the base that the other ship was docked at last.

Cockpits are vanilla right now, but in the future we will be adding in high detail cockpits unique to each ship.

Tradelanes still exist, but cruise speed has been increased to 450 and with docking bays and jump drives, many different methods of travel are possible!

Mining will work similar to vanilla Freelancer - shoot the rocks and stuff comes out. The most notable difference will be that instead of simply taking the ore to an NPC base to sell, the most profitable course of action will be to take it to a player owned base to refine it, and then use it as a crafting material for something such as ammo, weapons, ships.

Wide screen is semi supported at the moment, we've had a few issues with various resolutions on different video cards and we're still trying to track down why. Chances are Neo Terra will work for you right now without any issue though!

Neo Terra is set in an entirely new sector, that means the systems are completely new and different from vanilla. We have many interesting and varied environments for you to explore, and later on we will be adding randomly generated systems as well.

Neo Terra has a wide range of ship classes, - Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats, Corvettes, Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers, Battlecruisers, and Battleships. Currently only a few of those classes exist ingame, but as the mod progresses we will continue to fill in the gaps.

The server hosting software for Neo Terra will be freely available, and anyone will be able to host a fully functional server for Neo Terra wherever they wish!
