Dan. 19. West Yorkshire. Just a simple guy who lives in games and occasionally has a cup of tea. I like a good bit of sci-fi. Stargate, Doctor Who and recently Farscape. as well as some "well written" shows like House and Harry's Law. I'm friendly enough and won't try to be rude. Like my mamma always said, "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all."

Hello World.

In a less serious note I've never quite understood the idea of blogging. I've started it several times on different websites but always ended up putting something a little bit offensive about a friend and suddenly developed a shitstorm sandwich and the whole idea fizzles out. This is a good place to blog I feel because when I say "mod" or "indie" to any of the company I keep the 1st thought is to drool a little bit then talk about cars. Why do I bother? (already got into the remarks about my friends. Good one Dan)

ANYWAY. Intro. I'm Dan. Sup? I'm 19, live in Yorkshire and wear clothes. Cool. I've only ever had 1 job and that was over Christmas last year. I was a temp at GAME and GAWD it was good. Getting to play Skyrim before it's release. Staying up till midnight to serve the rabble in the COD opening (actually that wasn't so great) and a little staff discount which meant that everyone got GAME related things for Christmas. Now I'm at home all day idly passing the time by being a gamer.

Which brings me nicely onto my next subject. Games. I don't like crap games. I know that sounds a little obvious and on looking back at my recent purchases slightly false. I like games that stand up on their own 2 feet as being a good game without the need for hyping, midnight launches or oceans of extra merch to go with it. So instantly that rules out COD. There's just something about that the grates me every time I hear about how COD is the bestestgameintheworldzzzzzzzz!!!!!! I like a game with a good storyline, good gameplay and just seems to...work. I dunno, I'm having trouble explaining it now so I'm gonna list my top 5 games. 5: Skyrim. Overhyped yes...but I feel as though I've made a connection with it and I can forgive the hype because It doesn't stop giving me things to do. 4: Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. No storyline but it appeals to my sense of rollercoasterz and I feel slightly superior watch people enjoy MY THEME PARK!! 3: Phoenix Wright Series. A story/murder/pointing finger game. Right up my alley. 2: Professor Layton series. I dunno. It's always had a place in my heart. Until the 3rd one when it made my cry and started doubting my manliness until the youtube video of that scene had literally a squillion comments of "I cried" aand 1: Homeworld 2. Picked it up for £9 in a bargain bin 4 years ago, never come off my computer. It's so diverse and the modding community has just exploded. Everything from Star Trek to Stargate and there was a navy sea combat thing once in development but that's gone off my radar. Best money I ever spent and I'm still enjoying it now.

I feel we've now been briefly introduced and I don't want to put my foot in my mouth so I will end this preliminary blog by saying I hope to carry on writing and i hope I get a few people looking at it once in a while and thinking "well he's not a TOTAL twit"

Ta Tar for Now :)
