With the sheer number of mods available for an innumerable amount of games, a service/application like this will be a godsend.
I've been applying mods and TCs to games since the Doom days. The most frustrating games to mod were the original Unreal Tournament and Neverwinter Nights. A packaging mechanism was provided for NWN, but very few mod authors used it. UT had one, too, but it was almost universally ignored. And don't get me started on tracking mods and their respective updates or installation methods. What a nightmare!
Will Desura be able to eliminate all of these hassles? God, I hope so.
