Another little quirk I've noticed is that ladder climbing speed is almost comically fast when walking. It is actually slower than the speed you climb when running. Makes navigation a bit tricky for someone with always run disabled, since JC just rockets up and down the ladders.

At the risk of posting another wall of text, here is a crash log from a few minutes ago. This log seems to indicate an issue with the secondary weapon UI? I did have my EMP grenades assigned to that slot at the time. However, after restarting the game, the save could be reloaded fine.

Thanks for the response. If the game crashes again, I will see if I can upload a log. As for the stuttering, it started during the Paris shootout sequence during the intro, and persisted throughout Liberty Island until I got into Unatco. Hasn’t been an issue since though, including during a walkaround of the island after leaving Unatco, so it may be a fluke. I’ve kept 90 fps otherwise.

The loading times are not a result of New Vision or HDTP. In fact, I was running without those installed at first, until I got to Battery Park and saw the city backdrop. It was clearly made with New Vision’s textures in mind, so that was a pretty strong motivator to install it at that point lol. Didn’t change load times though. For comparison, my loading times in Revision are about half a second. Revision also uses all 12 of my i7 8700k’s threads though, so that could be the difference.

As for the talking animation bug, yeah that is 100% related to gestures. When they end, the character freezes up until another animation begins. This happens without fail on all characters that I have seen so far, except for JC. Doesn’t seem to happen to him.

Loving most of this mod so far though. The changes to level design easily rival Revision, without going overboard like that mod did. The mini crossbow also feels much more useful, with tranq dart headshots actually knocking enemies unconcious instantly, rather than still making them run for a second or two before falling over. All of the additional sound effects are very nice as well, such as ladder/landing footstep sounds, and even switching the laser pointer on and off.

The only things I really miss from other mods are the ability to switch grenades with the change ammo key from Shifter, and the item refusal menu from Revision. Those were nice QOL features to have.

Also I’m not sure if this is a result of the perks system being enabled or not, but pepper spray and gas grenades don’t seem to be useful anymore. Enemies wipe their eyes for half a second before resuming fire. I haven’t unlocked the low blow perk (I think that’s what it is called) yet though, which adds 5 seconds to the tear gas effect. If this is one of the things the perk system changes, then I can begin to understand why it was disabled by default.

Upon further observation, the bug I'm talking about has nothing to do with lip sync. It always happens after a character finishes one of the talking animations, such as slightly moving their arm(s) out and back. Something breaks, and they aren't able to resume a normal idle animation from the looks of it.

Definitely a bug with the mod. I'm amazed you guys haven't noticed it.

Guess there's no support then.

Well I haven't gotten much further than Liberty Island with this mod. On top of the lip sync animation issues, there are a ton of other performance related issues. Constant stuttering, 5-10 second load times from savegames (compared to half a second without this particular mod), and even a few crashes so far.

Too bad, I really wanted to play this mod. But it really doesn't want me to play it.

I'm the guest who left the comment. Figured I may as well sign in this time lol.

Good to see a new update that fixes the Ford Schick problem, that is a relief to see it won't hinder a play through.

Interesting that you guys can't recreate the lip sync issue though. It's extremely easy for me. A few moments into the intro for example, Page will freeze up during this line 90% of the time or so: Youtu.be

I have tried changing the audio and rendering devices, but no combination fixes it. I also tried removing HDTP and New Vision just in case that may be the cause, but still no dice. I even tried limiting my framerate to as low as 30 fps, but that isn't the cause either. I have to wonder now if it is down to environment. Do any of you guys use Windows 10, or the Steam version of DX GOTY?

EDIT: I remember seeing something... somewhere... about this mod limiting the game to a single CPU core. Not sure where though, I can't find it anymore. However, upon checking in Task Manager though, it is indeed true. Vanilla Deus Ex doesn't do this, and neither does Revision. They also do not have the lip sync bug. Is it possible that this is the cause, and is there a way to disable this and allow the game to use all cores? I realize this is reaching, but it does seem to behave as if the game is running out of steam or something, given that it is somewhat random.

I did try to set all of the cores as usable after booting the game, but it didn't make a difference. However, if it assigns all of the tasks to a single core when starting up, then I guess it wouldn't matter if I did that afterwards.
