In the modern spanish grammar rules they put J instead of X, so Quixote would be the original and Quijote the modern translation. Another example is Mexico/Mejico. I don´t know in latin-american spanish, but at least I think it´s this way in Spain (Europe)
And of course, sorry for any mistake in the spelling, I´m not a native speaker.
