The mixture of Stilization and use of normal+spec maps in a way this ... sharp i guess ... looks really strange - but not bad at all! Pretty unusual - cant wait to see how that looks in motion. So far i got the feeling that there is some kind of gap between the rider+bike and the map/track though ... maybe that's because of the stain and scratches all over the environment vs. the super polished apperance of the character/bike ... i suggest to ask your concept artist to dirty up the guy and his ride in the screen shot a litte to compare the effect. About the development speed - take your time for testing and balancing etc. - we have enough "i'm pretty on stills" games out there that are fun like licking dust bins ;)

Hey folks who are checking in now and then - a few of you might have noticed that i was not active at all since around eastern - well that's because of a medical condition i had to come by. I got repaired and will return to my digital live as well... within the next weeks or so.

Love it! The style is pretty nice - i'm not familiar with the engine/ system you're using - so did you do the artworks on this one yourself? anyway the level design seems pretty cool too! Go on with that nice work man.

That look's awesome guys - i'm really looking forward to jump from rock to rock and play with that physic behavior! Are you planing to experiment with some kind of inventory or bag system to carry more than one blocks? I can see why that folks (robot things)can just carry one at a time. I just wonder what would happen if you could build faster bigger structures ... anyway hoping for a video showing some alien lifeforms!

Just because most people are backing one opinion it's not right though, huh ;) In the very end the only person who needs to like your work is you - as it is your time you invested. Making pixelated or low spec games/ art/ design is an art form for itself in my opinion. Creating good stuff with such limitations is much more difficult than "those" people can imagine... So yeah, continue - at least i'm looking forward to check it out :)

CreativeStorm - - 97 comments @ Do you think the OUYA will succeed?

The hardware might not be the best - totally agreed. The interesting thing is what we indie devs can do for it... to me.

May be a start to some great future that can lead art back into video games. now that big publishers are just pushing Business...

We'll seen huh...

CreativeStorm - - 97 comments @ Do you think the OUYA will succeed?

I think it's a great opportunity... what is why i am on board since the kickoff - but i think too that it will highly depend on the games and payment methods... One of the problems on Android for example is the payment - there are no 3rd party shops where you can pay via paypal or similar...

I would buy at least one game per week for sure if i pay without a credit card ... i'm not quite sure why i don't own one but there are a lot people who don't.
(think read something about pre-payed cards recently ...)

Anyway - for sure the OUYA will not crush one of Nintendo's, Sony's or Microsoft's consoles. But with those ease for indie titles it probably will have a all different audience. ... maybe...

I'd rather buy some indie title that doesn't claim to be the greatest game in the world and is fun for long time. Than one that doesn't reach what it promised and is finished in about 4 hours and costs me 80 Euros...

Wow, quit a lot of text ... well that's what i think... i'm looking forward ;)

Some cool piece of work for sure - love that "retro" style. Always reminds me to those games that brought me to game development :) You're havin' some interesting ideas here - keep up the good work but take some time for your side projects as well ;)
