As an artist, MOD'ing didn't come natural. I dabbled in programming, exploring only the surface, and haven't had the opportunity to do the real deal. This MOD gave me a unique opportunity to interact with a portion of the Quake3 community, and bring life and vision to something I'd never be able to create on my own. Attending Junior Colleges in California had almost become a career in itself, when one day, CleverACE gave me the source code for Powerweapons v8. It was a fully functional version, but not quite the one that had been released. It took some doing, but figured out how to compile it, and started learning. I made a lot of changes, listened to those in my club, and the competing club, and did my best to make the whole vision become reality. the Pwrweapons v10 version for instance, was way faster then v8 or v12, and had an IPAD release, where I took out the gauntlet, and made adjustents that simplified it for use on the IPAD. So here's Pwrweapons Pro v12.

All said and done, we're running some old school and a bit newer Pwrweapons, and the new PwrgunsPro v4 release. As I just mentioned in the Pwrgunsv4 folder upload, we're all linux now, and you just need to download the Pwrgunsv4 folder to your baseq3 and your ready to rock. PwrweaponsPro v12 will be back online soon, we're just running some v8 and v10 for now.

I just noticed the Pwrguns v4 server is named Pwrguns v3, it is v4, I will change it as soon as possible. The Pwrguns, and Pwrweaps servers are all running on Ubuntu linux 16.04, and we're using the ioquake3 linux build. Looks like it's running sweet, and not sure how far the servers go, but this is running off my 50Mbit fiber connection in Kentucky on my server. Not a server farm.

Update... I've never tried the ioq3ded program. Perhaps a flash of inspiration, it worked. Pwrguns v4 is now running full map rotation.

There does appear to be a problem starting a server. I managed to start a server through the game menu, which of course uses one map. It works though, download the mod here and connect to the server at 66.38.26.68:27962

After more years than I like to think about. A move to Kentucky which left me without my server system... I suspect the power supply, during the move... anyway. Good news! We have a server up and running. We're going back a bit, because we never had a chance to try this out long online. IPAD Friendly Powerweapons v10 is just v10 Pro, but at the time I had just put the on-hand grapple in, and tried it on an IPAD... I kinda liked it, and so named the server. Back to work! Pwrguns v4 is coming. Hopefully without any further interruptions. No promises, but it looks like it could be soon. I'm going to set a goal of June. There's still quite a bit of work to do, as a couple technical hurtles held me up. They have been overcome.

Pwrguns v4 is on hold for just a bit. It's turned out to be a lot more work than I thought. I turned my attention back to Powerweapons v12, and through feedback, found that I wasn't finished. The current Powerweapons-Pro v12 will remain available for on-hand grapple purists.
The new Powerweapons v12 is going to have BOTH grapples simultaneously, thanks to a recent breakthrough. Will upload it as soon as it's finished, hopefully within a couple months, and go back to Pwrguns v4.

Update on quaternions. I'll be sticking with the original rotations code. Quaternions are very deep and I'll probably be needing a serious education on computer mathematics before I can work with them. Thanks to D-meat for letting me look at his source code!

Powerweapons/Pwrguns is back in development for Quake 3. Faster and way more powerful weapons than Excessive +... it fell off the map for whatever reason Powerweapons v12 Pro is the first on-hand version of the game, and needs play testing for it's potential in CTF... except for q3ctf4 and various space maps.
Variations on Powerweapons v8 are coming up for grabs. The latest is Powerweapons v8 Revisited 1.0. With a profanity filter and weapons overheat adapted from Alternate Fire MOD, it's suitable for Mormons, or any member of the family old enough to kill in Q3. Weapon overheat takes a bit of the edge off of spamming and creates a different feel for the game.

Pwrgunsv4 is in progress and officially back in development. So is Powerweapons, and will be releasing a server and client version of both, with all new features
such as profanity filter and weapon overheat.

Looks like MODDB didn't appreciate the Pwrgunsv3 portion of all this. It got archived. I just added a new CVAR to the files section of Sourceforge Powerweapons Pro v12, under the files and next to Pwrgunsv3, it replaces the Pwrgunsv3 CVAR and has notes... use it and you can see the new weapons.
I just figured out what I was doing wrong with them. They needed updating, and I was using the old CVAR file from Pwrweapons.
I'll mention that eventually I am planning on adding a CVAR readme, but that is low priority right now, and may happen at any time, or no time soon. ;)
