Hi, instead of preparing an online petition, you could consider hosting your project anonymously using I2P or TOR. Checkout I2P on www.i2p.net or TOR on Tor.eff.org. You could apply for an eepsite like Halogen.i2p. Nobody could sue you, because they can't locate the machine the website is hosted on. You could easily create a new nickname (idendity) and pretend you are someone else who continues the project. Nobody can deprove that. It's secure, it's anonymous, it's legal! :)
