Well it was certainly a fun lead up and the entire thing was done with great presentation. Really made me think that keeping the FPS mods away from everything else in these awards might have made the end product a little more enjoyable, what with 9 out of 10 top awards going to FPSs. Oh well, excellent work ModDB and congratulations to all the winners and nominees!

I've picked 'em.. Very hard to choose, there is some incredible stuff out there. Excellent work, everyone!

You need:
- Battle for Middle-Earth (not BFME II)
- Patch 1.03
- You may have to uninstall any other previously downloaded mods (some mods are BAD and don't allow you to play any other mods)
- If all else fails, uninstall BFME, delete everything in the Battle for Middle Earth (tm) folder, reinstall, repatch, then install the mod again.
- Make sure you use The Elven Alliance icon to play the mod, not the normal BFME icon
- If you get an error on the skirmish menu, this is because your skirmish profile has information from another mod that conflicts with The Elven Alliance. To fix this, go into your My Battle for Middle-Earth folder (Should be C:\Documents and Settings\YOURACCOUNTNAME\Application Data\My Battle for Middle-earth Files) and move YOURNAMEskirmishstats file out of this folder (move it somewhere for safe keeping, this is your skirmish stats information).

It's a problem on your end (of course there are models for the new things). Please visit this thread here: Forums.revora.net . Numerous solutions have been posted in regards to installation problems, and if none of them work, you can post your problem and what you've tried, and someone will try to help you out.

So long as the people you're playing with online also have the mod installed, you can play online. Playing with the Elves will drastically change the way you play the game. The first stage of the battle will probably be a mad scramble of hit-and-run with Scouts. Later in the game, you'll have to make sure you have some powerful heroes to be used in sieges. The Elves attack and defend differently from the other factions, so it may take a bit of time to get used to that. Watch out for the Army of the Dead and the Balrog, as they can cripple an army that will take a long time to reform.

How do you know? We can assume, if we relate Middle-Earth to the Middle-Ages, that there was no plate mail in Middle-Earth. However, there were no giant statues of stone (Argonath) or incredibly tall towers of unbreakable obsidian (Orthanc) in the Middle-Ages either. And besides, Legolas was willing to be equipped with "shining mail" (TTT, The King of the Golden Hall) before setting off with the Rohirrim. We could therefor assume that his "prince-gear" would some what more... elaborate.
