I think it would be cool if the crowbar was replaced by a new melee weapons that looks 'similar' to an actual crowbar. It wouldn't make sense for Gordon to still carry that weapon around if he's been trapped in Xen for years. It's more likely that a makeshift melee weapon would replace it, or that he would modify the crowbar in some way.

I also think it would be cool if the original design for Gordon, nicknamed "Ivan", would play a role in this game perhaps. I envision him as another Black Mesa employee working in another department, being involved mostly in manual labour. I could see him being a badass co-op character, or an NPC maybe.

Why is this using the terrible, soy engine called "Unity"?. I feel sorry for any developer who willingly chooses to use that bloated trash.

Even Godot would've been better, at least that's Free Software.

Any plans for MBF21 support?. I'd love to play Doom 64 and PSX Doom on the PC, but can't stand the ZDoom family of source ports. GZDoom especially runs like hot garbage, and is optimized about as well as a modern AAA release which is inexcusable for Doom.

I understand if some ports really need the features that GZDoom offers, but by that point you might as well be using a different engine. GZDoom seems to be made by people who hate Doom, the game itself. It really plays nothing like it, and is far removed from it's roots. And that's in addition to the other problems I mentioned. For a mod like this I really think MBF21 is more than enough, you can have custom weapons, sounds and animations, as well as enemies. If you need a demonstration, check out "Ad Mortem" which is a wad made using the format. I just don't want to see the ZDoom project get any more mindshare, I think it needs to be replaced by the better options that are out there. I'm using Nugget Doom for instance, and it's lightyears better in performance and feature set.

Very cool to see, but it's a shame you're using the GZDoom engine to make it. It's perhaps the worst Doom source port in 2023. Bloated, incredibly performance intensive, and it's community is toxic.

I highly suggest you switch gears now, and build this using the MBF21 format. You can add in a lot of custom content and animations without having to use GZDoom, and not only would it run a lot better but you can play it using a lot more source ports too.
