Okay, yeah, first blog-thing. Woohoo. So, this is more a less just a test than anything, to get used to the site and all that jazz.

Anyhow, a little bit about myself. I'm in high school in Florida. I'm mostly a console gamer, although I have played PC games (mostly strategy games, such as Company of Heroes, Men of War or Tropico 3). I have a bit of experience with level editing in CoH. However, I mostly play Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for the Xbox 360 (My Gamertag is "Cactiii", in case you happened to be wondering). I plan to get Halo: Reach soon, not for it's ridiculously boring gameplay, but for the forge (level editor) and machinima possibilities. While I haven't made an actual machinima as of yet, I have made scripts for a few, none of which have been made yet.

Well, to make this somewhat interesting, I'm going to commit a bit of heresy, for which I'm sure I'll get flamed by anyone whom, by chance, stumbles upon this.

I hate Valve.

Alright, I said it. Get it out of your systems; "you're an idiot!"; Valve's the best developer ever!"; "Go back to Call of Duty/Halo/World of Warcraft/Pokemon/Sims/[insert other childish game here]!". And you know what? I could care less. I could care less about what someone's opinion on my opinion of a money-whoring company with almost literally rabid fanboys. However, I will state a few reasons as to why I hate Valve:
1. They charged money for what should be FREE mods (Counter Strike; Day of Defeat), which is ridiculous. (I didn't include Garry's Mod, because the money helps to improve it)
2. A ridiculous fan base. L4D is considered an excellent zombie game? Half Life 2 (a ridiculously easy, unbelievable, cliche-riddled game is considered one of the best games ever?)? Gordon Freeman (a scientist who can hold an entire armory in his pocket and snipe people with submachine guns, while not even aiming, all the while wearing glasses) is considered the number 1 character of all time? What kind of crack must these people be on? However, I hold nothing against their excellent modders.
3. If a game is in development for four years it should be fun. Half Life 2 was horribly boring, linear, unsurprising and unimmersive. From the cliche scientist to the cliche deranged Russian priest, from the claustrophobic sewers to the claustrophobic... Well, everywhere else, from the boring plot twists to the idiotic AI... There was so little that was actually good about that game, save for the gravity gun.

Anyhow, end of the rant. Hope someone enjoyed it!
