Big update coming

BurntGames Blog

Hey guys,
Crystal Encounter RTS Update:
I wanted to let you know I am currently going to be adding a big update to the game. I am working on 2 different hero additions which will be unlockable as you progress through the game. One is a necromancer, and the other is a special type of archer. You will have to stay tuned to find out! But it will be on the asset store as an automatic update when its ready :) I am also removing the Camera Joystick for a swipe style of camera movement. It works really well so far and I think people will enjoy it. I will be also reducing the size of some of the icons because people on tablets are noticing that the images looks really bad when scaled up. Thats all for now. Thanks for playing!

Post v1.4 release

BurntGames Blog

Hey Guys,
After releasing v1.4, not many people DL'd the game, but my rankings are slowly increasing on the app store. I already know my game is higher quality than most games on the store, but its the keyword rankings that are holding me down. Anyways, I am incorporating more detailed analytics into my game so I can find where players are dropping off, and how I can tailor the game to make people continue to play it longer. So far out of 7 people who played today, only 50% continued past level one! Thats terrible! though it seems like I do have some dedicated players who are continuing to play which is great. Also I think I may add more heroes soon. A necromancer would be fun and give something for players to play towards. If enough people complete the last level I may incorporate additional levels as well. Lets see what happens!

HUGE UPDATE COMING

BurntGames Blog

Hey Guys,
If you are following the game I just wanted to let you know a HUGE update is coming. Here is what is being changed:
-Added Zoom in/out feature
-added 5 base damage to the warrior
-reduced the damage of the flaming arrow for the archer
-added enemy indicator for enemies not on the screen (so you can see where they are coming from)
-reduced the level length of level 3 and 4 to 7 waves instead of 10
-reduced the speed the camera moves
-reduced the difficulty of the enemies a tiny bit on level 4
-added wave number indicators for example: Wave 2 of 7
-Fixed a screenshot bug where it would close the game after you take a screenshot.

The update isnt 100% complete yet, im still deciding if I want to keep Everyplay in the game and also I may change the name of the game as well. The update should be released end of this week or sometime beginning of next week. Thanks!!

Gaining traction

BurntGames Blog

The game is beginning to gain some traction. 117/213 current to total installs with a very high average review of ~4.5 with 14 reviews which is pretty good. I recently translated to portugese and german so I can get downloads in different countries. I also translated to Japanese, Mandarin, and spanish to increase exposure. I am in the process of updating the game to make the warrior more power, and possibly making the levels shorter so people wont be turned off by the level length. I am adding a zoom in/out feature, and adjusting the camera speed as well. If the game gets popular enough I will also add more heroes and levels too as well as more polish :D The title may also be changed to increase ASO as well. Thanks for reading stay tuned!!

Advertising and reviews

BurntGames Blog

As an android developer it is incredibly difficult to get reviews of your game. Supposedly I heard people would flock to game devs asking to review their game, but from my experience that isnt true. The best luck ive had so far is posting to social networking sites like reddit, twitter, and creating my indiedb page. So far though, i am ranked in the top 50 new strategy games on the google play store, but it doesnt reflect in too many downloads. I am already planning my next game its going to be another RTS but you will control way more units and will be more about map control and less like a tower defense. I will also be refining the controls a lot more and getting nice artwork. Stay tuned!

First post

BurntGames Blog

Just want to say its hard to be a indie dev. I posted my first game and its been very difficult to gain downloads and get people to follow your game. There is just so much competition, and if you dont have a huge budget its difficult to get your name out there. So far im trying forums, posting on reddit, and using sites like this to gain some traction. Stay tuned for the next release!
