If you want to get anywhere in game modding/making you have to remember that you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life. You have to live your life with integrity and not give in to peer pressure to be something you're not. Stay true to yourself, never follow someone else's path or you may learn sooner than most the hard lesson that you must always make the path for yourself. So develop your own compass, and trust it. Take risks, dare to fail, remember the first person through the fire always gets hurt.
