Well, I took that into consideration when drawing the sniper rifle. However, there's one thing you're unaware of about this weapon.
The grip farthest to the right is what controls the lower barrel of the weapon(yes, there's two barrels). It shoots a charge of electricity in a long, controlled beam.
The top barrel is, you guessed it, the regular weapon barrel. It's bullets are about the size of an elephant gun, and still takes effect at around 700-800yds. If you don't know, that's quite a large range, especially for that size of ammunition.
Taking all of this into account, you can tell that you'll be getting one hell of a kick-back. So, the position of the grips were placed where they are due to the reason of injury resistance. ;)
