I think the whole anti-boycott has just given up on you all. Or they're too busy playing L4D2 to care. Probably both.

I try to be more mature about it. Well, at least more mature than I was a few months ago when I did just flame all of you. I apologize for that.

It's just when I tried stating points, I usually just got flamed myself.

P.S. Yeah, doob is just being immature.

See Rawket, this is exactly what AlCool is talking about. Flaming.

It seems like almost all of your, Darknekko's, and some of AlCool's posts personally insult others instead of their causes.

Just so im clear. What you mean to say is that compared to the amount of people that won't be buying L4D2, such as those who don't know or aren't interested, that this group really isn't doing much.

I guess when u look at it that way, you're sorta right.

Damn almost 40,000 members. Nice job.

Well I'm done battling guys over L4D2.I don't necessarily agree with the group or it's cause, but after thinking about it, I do understand why you would all be so angry at Valve. You see I play L4D on Xbox, so if anybody gets screwed over, it's us. So yeah after I got my fill of L4D I was waiting for anything new, so when I saw L4D2 coming out, I couldn't wait because it was L4D but with a new set of stuff.

I thought melee weapons were awesome, new guns were okay, and flaming bullets were lame. I didn't like that they changed the caste, but I was more about gameplay than anything and it looked pretty much like L4D1 so I thought it was pretty cool, especially since the L4D1 was getting really stale. More so than computer L4D1 (Seriously we don't even get TF2 updates).

So yeah, just wanna let you all know why I opposed you. I'm still anticipating L4D2's release, but if it doesn't then I won't really care. Plenty of other games out there, you know? CoD2 and Bioshock 2 are top of my list.

So I'm going back to neutrality, later all. :D

I said L4D fanboys, not Valve fanboys. Besides Al calling people fanboys seems to be your last line of defense. Besides I've been looking at your manifesto and it seems like Valve did about half of that, since it's about L4D getting updates and such. And the other half is complete ********.

Do you have any proof that the release of L4D2 will "split the communities and decrease the quality of multiplayer gaming." You know because there have been lots of sequels with online play and that doesn't seem to split up any community. Just like I mentioned on my bigger post on the other page. So give me an example of when a sequel just shut out the original's online play after some time the sequel's release.

And the other parts just seem to say you want the L4D2 stuff to be free, which if Valve does that, then they're stupid. Sounds to me like you're just being selfish. There's a lot of new stuff in L4D2 and you can't say it sucks or that it isn't enough because you haven't played the damn thing yet, so to update with all that would just feel like a new game anyway. A new game Valve won't be able to make off of.

"That Left 4 Dead owners be given discounts for Left 4 Dead 2, should it be released as premium content." Yeah that's never gonna happen. That would be too tough to prove in stores, It would be easy to fake, and I'm sure people who sell those games (Like GameStop) would hate that.

I don't really get how we're the L4D fanboys. You're all on here screaming about L4D must receive updates and new free stuff.
Besides I'm pretty sure that once Walking_Target takes down the community page, the Boycott will be split and then all that's left would be you guys here and other small groups on websites. And I seriously doubt that 160 people(Members of this page)are going to do anything effective in the gaming industry.

Oh and also how are we the Anti-anti-boycott? That phrase would mean that were against the anti-boycott, which is something we aren't.

I'm sure you know this, but all that takes time. Are you so greedy that you want it all now? It may be overdue but that doesn't mean Valve has just forgotten you all. Valve gave you guys SDK because they of the same reason they give every other game SDK, because everybody should be allowed to make or modify their own maps. So out of the many people who play L4D I'm sure a good handful of them would be better mapmakers than Valve's staff. Besides L4D is such a different game I would figure that the SDK would be a little messed up.

"A 5 year old could draw out the simple model with crayon and you still wouldn't understand."

Isn't really insulting. If a 5-year-old drew out a plan with a crayon, I don't think anybody could understand it except the the kid drawing it.

Well then, buddy, what else do you want? Valve can't release a bunch content in such a short period. You seem to want it all now.

They finally release some content for all L4D users and that still isn't enough. I bet they could release a ton of new stuff and you would all still say things like, "That's not (good) enough!"

So, to rephrase my question, what is good enough for you boycotters? Draw me a model.

Not really. The only thing that really changes in Madden is the team members. L4d2 has a lot of new things, especially compared to Madden. Besides, if you ask me EA is genius! They have people practically pay $60 bucks for the same game every year.

But back on topic. If you read my post, or the news about the boycott closing, you would have seen that Valve stated they will continue to support L4D with new campaigns (Crash Course is said to be the start) and plenty of bug fixes. Wasn't that the point of the boycott?

My God, you guys won't stop will you? The main guys who brought you all together are disbanding the group saying that they are satisfied with what Valve had promised. They seem to be the only ones who are making sense here. You have to give Valve some time to make these updates that were promised, ever since you guys saw the trailer sequel, it's like all of a sudden you decided that Valve wasn't releasing the updates fast enough.

It seems to me that you boycotters got what you wanted. Valve recognized you all as a group and told the main people that they will continue updates and that there will be numerous bug fixes and other L4D campaigns to look forward to.

What more did you guys want? I don't see anything that hints towards L4D2's release to "Split the communities and decrease the quality of multiplayer gaming." Take CoD for example. They made CoD 4 which was a huge hit, then not very long afterward they made CoD: WaW. Yet, there are still many people who play both of them. I figure that L4D players won't be very different. Sure, at first there will be a decrease in L4D players as people buy and try L4D2, but I'm pretty sure that eventually they will go back and play L4D again, and eventually switch between playing the two. I mean, come on, the original L4D cast is awesome. In fact that's the only part I don't like about L4D2 is that they don't keep the original cast, but hey with all the updates going on today, I'm sure they'll put them in eventually (I saw one guy suggested making them unlocakble, I thought that was a pretty cool idea.)

I don't understand what point you have in keeping the group together. So make it clear for me.

Jesus. I just got back after about a month of being away, and things still haven't cooled down. I figured that with the release date drawing near that the boycott would have chilled for a bit. Guess not.

Alright, here we go:
First off, how the hell can any of you claim the game sucks if you haven't even played it yet? All I keep hearing on here is repeated versions of "This game sucks, all they did is take the first L4D and blah blah blah." Well of course the second L4D is going to be similar to the first, they are made by the same people. Plus, it's a sequel, most of the sequels played always have some relevance towards the original.
Second, how can you not like the new weapons. True, incinerator ammo is sort of lame. But I happen to thinks that Chainsaws + zombies = Freakin Win!
Lastly, what are you guys gonna do once the came gets released?

So the ice cream cone represents the game? And the ice cream represents what you want? So Fiestain was right, you only bought L4D2 for the DLC you wanted, not just having the game itself. Seeing as how to you, there's no ice cream, and ice cream is the thing you want (the DLC).

Of course "Valve said..." isn't good enough for you. They have yet to give you something you want, so all of a sudden you decide that Valve isn't a good company that you can trust anymore.

All those links are basically the same articles because that is the only one quote from Valve, and it easily sums up what their trying to say.

Valve's probably going to get their fan base back because all this boycott is really doing is just advertising the game more. Seriously, 3 friends of mine saw some article about this boycott and all they told me was, "Holy crap! Left 4 Dead 2 is coming out!?" And yes, they thought the idea of this boycott was just generally retarded.

1: Yeah, I exaggerated, my bad.

2: Valve IS a dependable company, you guys are all just so caught up in your campaign for free stuff to see that.

3: They only stated that because they didn't think that a bunch of people venting would turn into something that would divide the community. It was a last minute way to try and calm everybody down. But I guess the people here decided that Valve just isn't a good company anymore whose word you can't listen to.

4: And who says you aren't going to get those things? As I stated Valve has not abandoned the L4D community. They have said they will still work on L4D. All you guys are doing is just covering your ears to this.

5: So you want all of that? For free? It takes money to get those new features. And Valve still needs money, and they get it by selling new games.

6: Well I didn't get it. Think you can make it clear for me?

Okay. Let's get some things down.

1: Millions upon millions are going to buy this game, so your meager 30,000 is barely going to lower the bar. Missing 30,000 people in comparison to the millions is like chump change. And I'm pretty sure that about half of the people who join this boycott are going to buy the game anyway even just to "Check it out" or lie and say they didn't.

2: Valve does want to please you, that's their second priority. They give you free play weekends, 50% off deals, and Survival Mode. Their first? Well, it's not you as an individual, it's to make money. That's why you make a business in the first place. To get some cash. Valve was just more successful.

3: Valve stated that they will continue to update L4D. You're all acting like they've just abandoned you.

4: Valve did promise you DLC and that's what you got. It may not have been the amount you wanted or the type you wanted, but they still gave it to you.

5: I've seen the gameplay videos. New weapons, new maps, new characters, new voice actors, new animations, new ammo type, a bunch of new stuff. That may not seem like much individually. But together, that's a lot to cram into DLC if you can just sell it and get more money.

6: I've still yet to get a straight EXPLANATION as to why you all think you should get all this good stuff for free.

I think anybody who joins this group is either a L4D fanboy or somebody who can't afford to buy the new game. You're all acting like Valve is just going to completely abandon L4D. It seems very "fanboy-ish" to go on here whining about how Valve owes you free stuff for a game. Also, I've yet to have anybody give me strait answer as to why you boycotters think Valve should give you the free L4D content.
