Crossfire 2.0

Mod review

I'm not rating the MP, only the SP.

Pros:
-Awesome new graphics, improved textures
-Fights more difficult rather than enemies just waiting for you to shoot them down
-Cap Ship turrets/Weapon Platforms hit harder

However that's where it ends; original campaign isn't great fun with this mod.

Cons:
-What they called "dynamic" economy isn't there. You start off as a whiny freelancer who said he's broke... only to start out with $150,000.
-Where it took you a couple of jumps to do a trade in the original game, you can make a decent profit off of Pittsburgh and a shipyard selling Nibidium (sp) for 1000% profit... repeatedly.
-Spamming shield batteries and nanobots seem to be to no end. They seem to hold more than you do.
-The increased length of fights hurt your campaign gameplay. Many people will find a brick wall at Beta 4 dying before you can kill off all the rogues on the first mission. This continues on for any other "protect" mission you have in the campaign.
-Missiles have LITTLE utility. The refire rate has been reduced by half even though the speed and turn rate for missiles have increased. This doesn't matter as your opponents normally spam flares. Your hardpoints are better used for standard weapons. The amount of missiles you miss compare to the time that could have been used shooting lasers down the enemy's chute shows that.
-The explosions of small fighters seem to have a BIGGER payload than any missile, like the pilot stored mininukes

Things that didnt affect my score:
- That annoying rule list when you undock out of Planet Manhattan. Shows that this game was more for the multiplayer experience rather than singleplayer.
- The "Crossfire" font. ITS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. If you anyone else feels the same way, you can easily fix this abomination by going to the FONTS folder and replacing the font.ini and rich_fonts.ini, find anything that has "Crossfire" in it and replace it back to "Agency FB": Congratulations, your text is now easy to read again.
