In some cases it does crash. Please reinstall and remove old saves, this should help. And sorry for this inconvenience!

No, no early beta for linux, sorry - we will start porting to Linux only after PC release.
With DLL issues reinstalling should help.
sugarmonster - what screen resolution do you have? It won't work if it's lower than 1280x1024. And what is your graphics card?
