The old year has passed. It's 2011. Amazing right? No? Well we have a new Elder Scrolls game to look forward to. So yeah. 2011 wont be any better then 2010 in my mind. Unless Dethklok comes out with a new album. So yeah. Minecraft is still kicking. It's in beta now! Though much hasn't changed. All that's really new is that you get to throw eggs. Amazing right? No? I thought so too.
People are doing things. That's cool right? Most of the Half life 2 mods totally suck. I wonder what 2011 will bring Mod wise. Like new mods. Not the mods that people have been delaying or have already stated will be out sometime in 2011. I wonder if Minecraft will go Gold. Or whatever the final version name is.
Mod Db launched Desura. It's ok. If your looking for a online game store were you download stuff, your best bet is still Steam. Speaking of Steam, did any of you get anything from the sale? I didn't. Super meat boy is the only thing I really want and I'd rather have that for my Xbox 360. I think PC's are cool and all. You get free online play (PS3 has this to. But it's so sonyish....). You get mods. You get Dedicated servers. You get Custom Content for games like Valve games, games by Bethesda, or any other custom content supporting game. But the problem with PC gaming is that the tech changes every 4 or 5 years that it's hard to keep up. With a console, you plug it in and play. You don't need to upgrade the CPU or video card. All the games made for it, work for it.
Back to my Desura Vs. Steam thing, Desura is more for community things. Like mods. Steam is more for commercial things. Like games. Do I think Desura would have the potential to grow bigger then Steam? Why of course I do. But Steam has been on the market a lot longer and about 2 million people are on it at any given time. So Steam is the obvious winner.
So yeah. That's what has been floating around my head. Also, I'm on a conquest to check for grammatical and spelling errors on stupid peoples post on the Mod DB forums. Although I did fix one smart person's post only because he used a wrong word, and I wanted to help get the point across to the OP.
