Yes, this project is still being worked on, although progress has slowed considerably, that doesn't mean it is dead yet however!

Yes, AI improvement is arguably the most important part of this mod, definitely top 2.
It's still being worked on, there haven't been any updates yet but we're still going strong! I think you guys will really like what we'll have in store!
I will guarantee you, planning 140 maps will get you absolutely nowhere, take it from me, I have personal experience. If you'd like to succeed I'd suggest you take my advice, the goal should not be to churn out a certain amount of content, it should be to put your very best work forward in each and every map.
Quality over Quantity, I'd much rather see one good map with one well thought out unit class and one era and one mode than 140 maps that you spent 4 hours on each. Making a good map generally takes at least a month, this is unrealistic, set small releases, one map in the first one, a few more in the second and so on.

If you run it in the Debug version you should be able to find the missing texture.
I believe you're missing one of the textures/effects of the fighter, I would suggest finding it. It looks rather unpolished right now.
Yeah, I've thought about it abit, maybe I'll add some other conflicts in later expansions.
I was thinking we should have a plethora of random republic heroes, there were so many Jedi during the battle.
Yes, we plan on having separate hero ships.
Have you thought about a Tri-Shuttle for General Grievous? (The one at the end of Clone Wars Microseries) It would be more accurate to what he was in during the battle.
We have not edited the fighters yet, but we will likely be making some changes.
Will, how hard would it be to add a Space Conquest mode to this map?
Right now it's not in but we may still look at trying again later, if we do add it in it would later in the process.
