Gewehr 1898 7.92x57mm Mauser
There were tons of these in Turkey until 1953 where they were stored or destroyed after being replaced with the Garand.
This rifle is very important for Turkey and Ottoman empire, that even people named their girls after it xD
Finally I could share some pics in a group, now I can see plus sign on image screen, and when I saw this first time, I decided to share WW1 Ottoman Army weapons.
Yes, this rifle is very important for Turkish army. There's a lot of Turkish model mauser rifles on the world.
In fact, I bet there are still some Mausers and Thompson's stashed somewhere in a military depot :D
