For everyone that likes Warhammer 40k Tabletop and Dawn of War Games or anything to do with Warhammer 40K.
In case there are still a few people living under a rock here, Sixth edition is coming next week. Pre-orders are up with a collectors edition (Only 4000 are being made so get them while stocks last) and a gamer's edition (Also while stocks last) as well as standard.
From what I've heard so far new things in sixth edition:
-Allies are in
-Terrain plays a huge role
-People can buy terrain which takes up a FOC slot
-Snap fire
-Vehicles have hull points
-Gameplay more "cinematic"
-Instead of picking which units are causalities the closest units to the attacker are killed
-HQs can challenge each other to duels
-"Warlords" are units that give bonuses to your army, the warlord is the model with the highest leadership
-35 new psychic powers
-Psyker "mastery" is what determines how many
-No Psychic Phase
-No Initiative Phase
-You can pre-measure like in Warhammer
-Units can use Overwatch
- Close-Combat Weapon now have AP value, ranging from AP- to AP1. Pistols don't grant more bonus than in 5th Edition.
-Flyers are a major thing
-Flyers can move very fast and is hard to target (6 only to hit) unless the shooter has Skystrike rules that allow them to shoot flyer at normal BS.
A lot of the other rule changes are up on Natfka.blogspot.com didn't feel like posting them all up here so go there if you want the rest.
don't play 40K but i might pick one up when i move to Holland in August. been a WH40K for some time and it seems interesting to have.
The GW here will happily rob you of the same amount of money as it had done with us. :)
1000 pounds and counting...
The flyer rule seems pretty badass, and thats a good one for me too cause Valks play a big role in my IG battleplan!
Hurr look at my T-Rex arms.......
I wanted to buy beginner set like a year ago but instead i started buying books. I ******* love to read, especially 40k.
Already ordered it, looking forward to rapid firing with my 23 tau fire warriors at 30 inch!
Not sure if I want to get it just yet...
I suppose on the 7th edition's book jacket you will see:
"In the grim darkness of... ah you know."
