For everyone that likes Warhammer 40k Tabletop and Dawn of War Games or anything to do with Warhammer 40K.
A Macrocannon is the largest form of Auto Weaponry, and is much heavier even than the Autocannon, essentially serving as a type of artillery piece. They fire massive and explosive shells at a maximum range of around 40 kilometers. Although it is possible to mount Macrocannons on heavy vehicles, they are more suited for use as emplacements and for static defence due to their considerable size and potency. Macrocannons are a Standard Template Construct (STC) technology, and often form the primary weapon of Imperial starships.
Sexy piece of equipment
are those ratings pulling the gun back? that's some slow rof..
No I'm pretty sure those are average sized humans(slaves)
on the bottom left it doesn't say ratings habitation? hard to read that font.
Yea it does but I thought you meant ratlings. What's a rating in 40k?
Slaves pulling the gun back onto the loading station... typical Imperium.
Not slaves, criminals who are serving time.(As you can imagine there are a lot of criminals in the imperium)
All the technology of the 4ok future, moves batteries with slaves...
40 Kilometers?
Why such sort range?
Where are you getting 40 kilometers from? These guns fire at hundreds of thousands of kilometers.
Read the description.
I just thought of Warhammer 40 kilometer.
I remember someone explaining that because most things in Warhammer universe prefer to be up close and personal, plus these being defensive weapons, they really have no need for long range bombardment. If they do, they will nuke from orbit.
That's only for planetary based versions, the description came from the lexicanum for the base macro-cannon page, which has it set for the planetary version.
the ship based ones go much, MUCH further.

Oh, come on, in the vacuum of space those will travel more than 40 km for sure. In facuum there is no friction, and no frction means no loss of force. In theory those could travel for ever... or at least untill they hit something.
Don't make me repeat myself Servicemen Burnside!
Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest son of a b**** in space.
most of the time with max ranges it is the max effective range.
not literaly the furthest a projectile will fly
Warhammer was steampunk before steampunk was even cool
