A new AVE (Alta Velocidad Española - Spanish High Speed) service was launched on November 28th between Madrid (capital of the Kingdom of Spain) and Paris (capital of the Republic of France) through Barcelona (a Spanish city). This new service will be operated by Spanish AVE S-100 trains, jointly built by CAF (Spain) and Alstom (France) that were put into service in 1992 and upgraded in 2006.
