So then, i have amounted 5 items for this weeks Community Spotlight. This is the spotlight that is added on Saturdays when we have so much content that it cannot wait till Monday. So here it is:
Left 4 Dead Movie Trailer
The movie that we mentioned a while ago and in some of the older podcasts has finally got a brand spanking new trailer out for everyone to enjoy. Usually Fan films are pretty badly made but this one looks well planned and made. The trailer shows off some good quality content and it makes me want to see this film as soon as possible. Still without further ado let the trailer sell you the wanting-ness. Thanks to Flaming Fox for pointing this out. Please discuss here.
Left 4 Dead 2 Free Weekend for Xbox Players
This week Silver Xbox players who do not own Xbox live will have the ability to play this game online for free. Though you do not get a copy of Left 4 Dead 2 you just get to play it on Xbox live for free rather than paying which is something that you need to do in order to play it online on xbox normally. So if you have an Xbox then try out Left 4 Dead 2 online this weekend.
Left 4 Dead 2 getting motion-tracking
The company Razer is going to be bringing motion-tracking and gesture technology to Left 4 Dead 2. Thanks to Flaming Fox i was able to update this bit with some proper information, over at Kotaku they have managed to have a gander at the new technology and also have a play with it in Left 4 Dead 2, it's some interesting stuff and you should give it a read here. See it in action here. Discuss here.
Essentially its like the Wii but is a lot different, you use two wands and you can control a lot of game mechanics with it but its got a whole magnetic field and everything making it more responsive than the Wii. Anywho check it out, it looks cool but i think i want to stick with my mouse and keyboard.
Essential Console Commands
For those that are mappers or just want to script some characters to say certain things then this page will provide you with a lot of helpful information about some good console commands that come with Left 4 Dead 2. It's got some interesting stuff on there and i recommend that you check it out. Thanks to AA Killer for sending us that.
For those that did not notice, i didn't, the graphical capabilities of Half Life 2: Episode 2 was greater than that of its original: Half Life 2. It did not feature a lot of things that makes the game all shiny on peoples computers. Well someone decided it was time to update the original engine and make it all shiny. There is a camparison video (below) which shows some startling differences between the two and really i cannot see why Valve hasn't done this already, if this guy can do it then either do it yourselfs or just market this to everyone who owns the game via steam or something. It's some impressive technology and makes Half Life 2 (one of the greatest games of all time) look fancier and more awesome than it originally did in the first place. So check out this thread here, thanks to Flaming Fox for that.
