Join the Social Modding Club where we plan events to play some of the great mods of our time, both old and new. The goal of this group is to allow members to easily plan and schedule events for gamers to play together. Moddb.com and Desura allow anyone to easily find, download, install, and update mods. This is the perfect place to setup a group with a forum that pulls gamers together so we can all enjoy the fruits of everyone's labor. My hope is that this will allow gamers to experience some of the amazing online mods that don't always have a large user base. I plan to have regularly scheduled events to keep this group active and a forum that will support users posting their own events or requests for gaming. Please join the group and enjoy the pleasures of playing mods with friends!

Please only start new threads for special events that you want to organize or other things.

Thanks :D

Modular Combat? :D
I wished to play decadence..never played it online,
but always wanted to

Post back when you want to play some decadence and I'll try joining a server. Sometimes there are servers and I can try hosting/playing from the same box if needed. I've only played it online once so I wanted to try it some more as well.

I would love to..
But anyway I'm a bit confused, because of the deactivated registration
do you need a reg. for playing online?

Tried it online with a friend and it didn't work.

I think you need to setup Unreal Tournament 3 online first.
Get that working first and then quit out of UT3.
Then just run the mod shortcut and enter the same account info to log into the mod.
Then you should be able to bring up the multiplayer server lobby and pick one.
Let me know if this makes sense, if not I can try to clarify some more  :)

why the hack do I have to setup UT3?
I thought it was a sourcemod..I neighter have UT3 nor would it make sense, or am I that wrong? :D

Oh wait.... completely wrong mod!
I was thinking of The Haunted for some strange reason.
Sorry about that, wow complete brain fart there  :P

They used to have an ability to sign into their website and it would track your stats and scores etc.
So that is what the registration is talking about.
The registration website isn't up anymore so you can't register but it was just for logging stats.
You should be able to play however there are almost never any servers.
When installing it does offer the ability to install the dedicated server files for hosting your own server.
I haven't tried it yet but I guess its worth a shot once if I can get a couple people together  :)

okay..that are good news, because one of the comments to the mod said
something like "wish the reg was open, I want to play it", that was a bit confusing.

Mh we didn't try the dedicated server, there was a "create server" option in the main menu,
but this may work.
I'll give it a try :)
Thanks..

I was able to host and join my own server however I don't know if it was showing up in the server list for other people.
Even though we are far apart time wise (6 hours), post in here before you start the server and I'll try to hop in it if I'm awake  :P

We can try planning a date/time to try this as well.
I think 2:00pm for me is 8:00pm for you so that may be a good time but let me know what date/time works for you.
Thanks

:) sounds good, but the internet of mine is quite sucky.
Loading with 45kb/s and a usually ping of somewhere around 90.
I'll write back and we gonna try..

Jan 29 2010, 9:08am Anchor

Dam internet  :P
But its still worth a shot.
I work until 7pm EST during the week so we may have to plan on the weekend.
Let me know

Jan 29 2010, 11:48am Anchor

have a long weekend this time..
If you don't mind we may play tomorrow
..eh how far is EST behind GMT? :D

Jan 29 2010, 10:33pm Anchor

I think its a 6 hour difference so 1:00pm EST is 7:00pm GMT which may be a good time to try it tomorrow.
That would give us an hour to try it out and then I'm gonna hop right into the gaming event at 2:00pm (EST) which is Hidden Source
Let me know if that works

Jan 30 2010, 7:45am Anchor

..okay sounds good!
Will be a nice evening for me.
:)

Jan 30 2010, 1:27pm Anchor

Crap sorry I just woke up, stayed up WAY too late last night  :P

I started a server but I doubt its showing up properly since the IP looks fishy:

127.0.0.1:27015

You can try connecting directly or maybe it will show up in the server browser.
Sorry I was late but we can try this again another weekend day  :)

Jan 30 2010, 2:14pm Anchor

eh correct me if I'm wrong, but I think 127.0.0.1 is always the ip of your own.
This can't work.

to make the communication a bit easier you may add me at steam: knutelmaster@web.de
and sorry I'm late, but I think I still have problems with the different times :D

GMT+1 is now at 20:22
what is EST at`?

Jan 30 2010, 2:30pm Anchor

14:27  so I think its 6 hours but not positive.

But yeah I knew that IP was fishy, it looked like the default.
Its cool we'll try again another time, but I'm hoping into Hidden Source for a bit.

Jan 30 2010, 2:41pm Anchor

..oh sorry my mistake :D
have to install hidden, but I may join later
