Some people say that the game runs smoothly on Linux, while runs poorly on Windows due to poor optimization. Is that true?

Not as Far as I know, It runs fine on my windows XP, and I'm running a virtual machine!

Also, on the demonstration video for the pony mod there was a fair bit of swearing. Are those audio files in the demo or not? Because it really offended me.

EDIT:OK, so I realized that the video I was watching was for an older version of the mod, and the newer version contains actual sound files from the show.

Still, the fact that there was ponies shooting each other and blood flying everywhere disturbed me.

You can turn off blood and the shooting can be comical if you have the correct settings

Allright, so I have downloaded Xonotic.

However, whenever and only when I try and run the game, my network connection cuts out, then reconnects but without internet access. Then I have to reboot the router, because nobody else's connection works either...sigh.

It seems that windows is suboptimal for xonotic, try a light install of ubuntu or something i guess.

Chances are tomorrow we're replacing my PC with a Mac. I'll try Xonotic on it and hope that it works.

Also, Xonotic's problems on Windows seems to stem from poor optimization and the fact that it's still unfinished.

It's open source, not unfinished

Isn't it still in beta (or was it alpha)? That's what I meant.
