I know that many of you may argue this point, but let me put forward my position.

Why do the children of this world have to put up with crap like Hannah Montana? I mean, come on!! An ordinary teenager by day, a rock star by night? WTF?!?!?!? What happened to the good stuff of the 90's? Those from Australia SURELY remember getting home every after to watch Mr Squiggle and A*mazing. I'm sure practically everyone watched some good, classic Nickolodeon like Rocko's Modern Life and Rugrats? We all remember the Pokemon craze taking over the world in early 98/99 (with cards being banned in every school). We also had things like Captain Planet, Power Rangers, Animals Of Farthing Woods and (although I was born in the 90s, I still remember borrowing the videos) Transformers. Now, all kids have to look forward to are either bad animes like Avatar or educational shows that suck balls like "Play with Me, Sesame". Even though we had some blatantly educational shows like Johnston & Friends (again, pure Aussie) they were at least half decent.Heres a Youtube link too some classic parts of the above shows (Don't worry, it's not a rick roll):

There, I'm done with my rant. Now what's your opinion?

my opinion is that your right. All the classic shows are better than this crap and they actually tought you more than the crap today..
the old shows tought you more about being responsible and having fun where nowadays it's all fads and crap like being skinny!
okay there's my rant done

Jesus Christ, you guys don't really want to know what I used to watch, I used to believe that the shows that you mentioned above were crap, then again, I was in my twenties.

Main shows I used to watch when I was a kid were Bugs Bunny and the first version of Transformers, Machine Men, Astroboy, Starblazers, Voltron, Space Ghost, and many others I can't remember.

Some of those mentioned by Marauder are classics. And I don't think it really relies on age. I watched an old episode of Postman Pat a couple of weeks ago and I still loved it.

well... I didn't to watch much tv when I was I kid, but I do have an opinion about today's toys.
When I was a kid I used to entertain myself with some something called "Kenex", have any of you heard about them? they were great in every way, you could creat and put together all sort of things. And now... at least in my country, there's only violent crap on the market, meant only to enhance the sexism of the kids...
But yet again we "grownups" will always say about the good'ol times... but yeah today's toys and tv programs are crap.
So: when you have kids, don't have a tv in the house and encourage your children to read. A book is way better that any tv show.
