Invasion of Jerusalem image - Medieval Role-Play

*The Teutonic fleet comes in sight of the coast of Phoenicia. The men aboard were eager for the fight, and the time had finally come. Niteris was looking over a map of the beaches when he heard shouting.

He got up and walked up to the main deck. A soldier came up to him and said "A scout on horse back spotted us and ran off. We were to far away to strike him with an arrow. Sorry, Grand Master."

Niteris grimaced and then came to a decision. "Launch the attack now! Just like i told you, Ritterbruders in first, then the Halbruders, and then the sword brotheren."

The men on board the ships hurried as fast as they could to the landing ships and soon the first wave of craft was off and unloaded the troops on the beaches. The second and third waves were brought in and still the Muslims had yet to respond.

Niteris ordered the small amount of horses they brought to shore. it was only 30 but it was enough to have a heavy cavalry force if needed. The forces formed up and marched towards Jerusalem, their armor gleaming in the sunlight.

As they neared the crest of a hill, an envoy was seen riding towards the army. The knights let him pass and he rode up to Niteris.

"Great Esteemed Christian Lord, you are trespassing on the lands of the Sultan. We have not insulted the Christian states in any way, we do not wish to fight. Just leave in peace." the envoy said.

Niteris simply laughed aloud as did the other knights. The envoy was suddenly scared.

"We are here because our holy father banished us for ridding him of a conspiring Emperor. We are to take back the holy lands as he asked. Tell your great Sultan to surrender if he wishes to keep his life, if not then tell to ready his forces." Niteris said.

The envoy rode off scared shit less. The knights laughed as they watched him run away. They continued on their march towards the city of Jerusalem when horns were heard from behind..*
