I just realized there is a significant lack of true heroes among the Jedi.
What is your definition of heroes? Star Wars is filled with heroes, what I think you mean, is that there is a lack of heroes that die of natural ageing or lack of unbeatable heroes, well they are unbeatable until there written death occurs.
yea what you mean by true heroes? i would classify Yoda a true hero he died of natural causes. then again he did get defeated in ep. 3
