Nobody expects the Spanish Inq- I mean Conquistadors!
To be fair, the Mayans didn't "predict the apocalypse", they had a calendar system for up to 2012. Nothing unfixable.
Much like the dreaded Y2K, it'd only take an update for it to continue functioning.
