Fun fact: plenty of the aztec's enemies, gladly sided with the spanish, knowing full well that they would be destroyed too, just to get back at the aztecs.
That puts a whole new spin on an old story.
The thing to remember is Tenochtitlan was a island capitol city. Did this aqueduct sanitation apply to everyone else in Aztec culture or just Montezuma?
But hey, at least there's a legitimate reason to burn heretics cause the last thing we need is Chaos corrupting the Imperium from the inside like it does today.
Nope, at the time it was normal to just dump your chamber pot out into the street or river if it was close enough. Hence the reason why it's considered polite for the man to walk on the side closest to the buildings in case someone dumps their pot without warning
The sheer ignorance about Aztecs culture bothers me:
1. Aztecs knew how to read and write, they had their own freaking language.
2. Aztecs had sanitation and modern plumbing was not a thing back then.
3. Debatable if that counts as a good thing. Besides, forced converts generally have a tendency to f*ck up the religion.
And finally the Spanish's also happened to wipe out the native culture, extract the natural resources enslaving the population on mass and other f*cked up stuff.
There's really no point discussing these kind of subjects with people (the hot topics on the internet nowadays). Both sides are composed of mainly ignorant people, with the occasional rational (to a certain extent), but deluded, person.
On the plus side, there's some humour to be extracted from their feud sometimes.
I don't know about you BioDestroyer but discussing subjects even with people who are levels more knowledgeable then me on subjects has taught me.
Running away from discussions is more detrimental than it is beneficial in the long run from my experience. It's better to be challenged then live in your own bubble.
Rational discussions can teach you things. Those are nearly non-existent.
Modern discussions only have: Select arguments that support one side's views (while completely ignoring and evading all others), distortion and utter disfiguration of the truth (both sides are guilty of this) and lots of circlejerking (a whole freaking lot of it).
Where is the healthy exchange of ideas? Where is the objectivity?
There is nothing to be learned by discussing with most people. All that I can take from them is observe the discussions they have with one another to attempt to understand the stupidity that goes through their heads.
Part of discussion tho is learning the other side isn't always going to be reasonable at first. You gotta cut some slack for it to warm up and evolve beyond that.
Ive applied that in a few discussions and gotten productive results from it. As with everything in life tho, there's always the possibility giving them the benefit of the doubt will backfire. In that event, just gotta trooper up and move on.
1. Only priests knew how to read and write. And even then there was no official alphabet with their people. So scholarly pursuits were reserved for the devoutly religious.
2. In their capitol city yes, rest of the empire not so much.
3. I'd take Inquisitorial interrogation over sacrificial rituals anyday.
*And spreading illness that took horrific casualties
Karma's a real vixen after sacrificing so many of your children to false gods and demons.
They were sacrificing their neighbours.

Yeah, because burning alleged "witches" and heretics alive is so much more civilized.
Also sanitation in Tenochtitlan was significantly better than in European cities during that time: Researchgate.net

Modern ideas of sanitation? You mean like throwing your own **** in the street and in your drinking water? Gee how modern...
Wrong country boyo.

You know what... I'm just gonna turn around and ignore this.
Edit: also why the weeb artstyle?
Just grow a corn field set up a stash and sell popcorn for those who want to enjoy reading the comments !
How dare you suggest corn be used for something that trivial! Everyone knows that corn should be used to make whiskey, just like god intended!
Our friend Joshua has been converted into a weeb, I'm afraid.

It's all fun and games until the [inevitable] mass deletion occurs...

Something about history being written by the victors.
Exactly! As I said 3 images ago: As long as you win, you can write anything!
Something something, white man's burden, something something, people think this is racist or morally wrong.
it is morally wrong to force someone into a religion (not talking about slavery and rape).
