I don't know what in the hell were the developers thinking. I mean it really isn't fun when a stupid bandit gopnik headshots you with a rusty Makarov pistol from over a hundred meters.

lol i found misery's difficulty pretty manageable even the dark road setting, thats how games should be imo. fight your way up till you got good equipment and even then you're not invincible you still have to rely on Thinking ,decision making and Skill.
Now the optional difficulty where you get radiated during daytime and can only venture out during night time now thats ******** kek.
