Gray Jedi are those who, though having completed the teachings of the Jedi, operate independently and outside of the Jedi Council. They are typically seen as misguided, though they have not necessarily succumbed to the dark side.
The Jensaarai, meaning "hidden followers of the truth" in ancient Sith, were a group of padawans who were led away from the Jedi Order by a false recollection of events painting the Jedi as evil. Eventually, after the Jedi fought and killed the most corrupt members of the group, the padawans began to be taught by members with less knowledge of the dark side. Because they originated from the Jedi, they upheld many of the beliefs of the Jedi, such as peace, justice, honor, discipline, and respect. They also took from the Sith the power of aggression, but not to the point of corruptness. They are naturally more oriented towards the light side than the dark side.
