Steam makes more issues for The K-J competition group
Gift can't be sent due to regional price differences
Today I was on my way to sent a game to one that got the gift ticket from the Christmas competition in 2018 and I got a message that says "Due to regional price differences, the gift you are trying to send cannot be sent to the recipient's region." For the first time today and I see that everyone else gets it too when they try to gift someone else in few other another country.
This is just an example from 2017: In an email sent to Steam, the following countries will be adding region-appropriate sales tax to all purchases, from the months listed:
- March 2017:
- Switzerland 8%
- South Korea 10%
- Japan 8%
- New Zealand 15%
- Iceland 24%
- South Africa 14%
- India 15%
- April 2017:
- Serbia 20%
- May 2017:
- Taiwan 5%
- July 2017:
- Australia 10%
So because of this I can't send Games or DLC, will this mean I need to close the K-J contest. NO! there is other way to sent games on Steam. I tryed out G2A today and the person who didn't get the game because of Steam got a key instead from G2A and received the game on steam in that way instead.
I still have to pay a small fee, but that doesn't better if you win and you want that game I will make sure you get it in may or an other. So don't worry about the regional price differences on Steam. The contest is global and it will stay that way, it's just irritating that Steam makes it difficult sometimes.
So if I can't gift you the game on Steam, you will receive a G2A key instead
I wish you all a great day and thank you for joining the contest!
No problem buddy, you're doing your best and I'm sure the winner will be OK :)
It isn't your fault. In addition, G2A key or steam key,it's the same I think.
It must be a legal website, after all many of great streamers on twitch and YouTube advertise on their stream and also recommend to use it.
It is, it's just that some people sell pirated Russian keys. But most keys are good. In any case if you want to be sure, I advise you to look at the comments and the rating of the seller.
I don´t think you want to actively display G2A as your source though. I don´t think a lot of Moddb users and maybe even staff will agree to that.
On top of that you can get trouble with it too. I use the site as well so i speak from experience when i say i had multiple games removed from my steam library. The reason for this is the game´s payment never being completed by the original buyer. It´s not always like that, but still. Watch yourself.
Not sure what else to use, you do pay for the games there after all. Is like the old games like total war, if you got them on GameStop, you didn't get the CD but a CD key to use on Steam. This is almost the same for me. But if there is other way to do it, I'm all open for it.
What about send wallet steam cards ? Its work in any country
I been thinking about it, but as I said. I only use G2A if Steam is going to be a pain about the regional price differences... It's only so they can get the game, if Steam don't work.
Maybe you can try Humble Bundle. I always use their service and they give discount a lot too.
I never used Humble Bundle before, so was it for G2A too. I will think about it
Why am I not surprised my country gets bum-raped by Steam... again. One of the reasons I shun this crappy platform altogether.
Steam is bad, they are doing lots of ****** stuff lately.
Aside from this they have gone back on their word and started banning anime games again, tolerate machine translations, asset flip games and have no quality control whatsoever .
Maybe you should consider switching to GOG unless they have the same gifting problem.
Once again, thanks alot!
