Just how do you manage to fly those US planes? I tried them in RB and got shot 10 times in a row by bf109. They are good for arcade though.
oh yo cadianConscript didnt knew you joined our group/clan as for the question early Americans are really good for AB indeed as for RB well .. the P40 and F4Fs and F6Fs are pretty good. you do a mix between BnZ and Turn fights with them atleast thats how i do it it also depends against what enemy your fighting.

DIVE ! American planes are the best divers in this game !If he follows you and you must hope for that start making a turn fight with them if you were in F-6 or F-4F or F-4U, one other way is...to climb from sides of the map then enter battle while climbing too never climb straight to the battlefield, with this tactic you might end up higher than them so dive on them hit and go back up then dive hit and go back up till you shoot them down, < this tactic works well well with P-47 and all other USA fighters, if you were using Buffalo make turn fights and fight low if anyone dives on you make S or turn in circles you need to turn hard and adjust turning according to the attack. using flaps landing for hard turning with Buffalo works nicely.
